List of Contents
Hand Traps, cards that function similarly to set trap cards but are activated from the hand, are an absolute necessity for any deck.
The above staples have the highest value particularly Maxx C
, Ash Blossom, Nibiru and Infinite Impermanence which are the best to craft early on. Any one of these cards will help to either stop or interrupt your opponent's combos and key effects like with Ash Blossom and Infinite Impermanence or capitalize on them like Maxx C and Nibiru.
✔ | Lightning Storm | ✔ | Raigeki |
---|---|---|---|
✔ | Harpie's Feather Duster | ✔ | Twin Twisters |
✔ | Crossout Designator | ✔ | Torrential Tribute |
✔ | Evenly Matched | ✔ |
Sometimes you need to clear the board to play your strategy without interruption and these are the premier staples to help get that done. Lightning Storm is the perfect go second card being both Raigeki or Harpie's Feather Duster when you need it and Torrential Tribute has remained a relevant board wipe for ages. Pick these up if you're looking to control the field.
✔ | Pot of Prosperity | ✔ | Pot of Extravagance |
---|---|---|---|
✔ | Pot of Desires | ✔ | Allure of Darkness |
Drawing cards is powerful in Yu-Gi-Oh! and these are the staple spells that provide cards quickly and efficiently for almost any deck, just mind the draw backs. If you aren't worried about affecting your deck's combo, then Pot of Desires is perfect for giving you more options. If you're looking for a specific combo piece then Pot of Prosperity lets you check the top cards of your deck before drawing.
✔ | Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder |
---|
Don't let the Xyz cost fool you, Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder can be quickly and efficiently summoned from the Extra Deck with its alternative Special Summoning cost for a powerful board clear Quick Effect.
✔ | Accesscode Talker | ✔ | Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess |
---|---|---|---|
✔ | Knightmare Phoenix |
Functioning as either consistent win conditions or additional disruption, these Link Monsters are staples of any Extra deck that can fulfill their Special Summoning requirements. Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess can negate your opponents key monster effects and Accesscode Talker can often clear the board and finish the game in the same turn.
Though typically dictated by the metagame, Staples are cards that can and will fit into nearly any deck and are generally expected as part of deck building. These cards a priority to craft due to their flexibility as well as their prevalence in the game.
Say how many copies of these staples should we craft? Max it out?
