Mayakashi plays a lot like the Shiranui archetype with Synchro Summons Also has access to powerful Link Monsters, and can Link Climb as well Because of their Zombie typing, Mayakashi likes using the GY to their advantage
|
The Mayakashi is an archetype comprised of different Attributes, Zombie-Type monsters. Their playstyle revolves around reviving Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi multiple times and using it to Synchro Climb, similar to Link Climbing.
All the Synchro Mayakashi Monsters have 2 unique effects and they follow a pattern:
First: If a Synchro Monster you control is destroyed, you can Special Summon this card from the Graveyard by banishing another Zombie monster from the Graveyard.
Second: If this card is Summoned from the Graveyard, perform effects such as Destroy a monster, negate an effect, destroy a Spell/Trap, etc.
Mayakashi | Summoned from GY Effect |
---|---|
Oboro-Guma | Monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle this turn. |
Tsuchigumo | Both player sends the top 3 cards of the Deck to the GY. |
Tengu | Destroy 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls. |
Yoko | Destroy 1 Monster your opponent controls. |
Goshadokuro | This card becomes unaffected by other card effects this turn. |
All of Mayakashi's Link Monsters have Yuki-Onna in their name.
Yuki-Onna, the Ice Mayakashi halves an opponent's monster's ATK/DEF stats if a Synchro Monster you control is destroyed. While Yuki-Onna, the Icicle Mayakashi has an on-summon effect that negates an opponent's monster effect. It can also Banish itself from the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Synchro Zombie Monster that is banished or in the GY.
Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi is the Deck's primary boss monster. It negates any opponent's monster's effect that is banished.
It can also negate a monster effect when a monster's effect is activated in the Graveyard or when a monster is Summoned from the Graveyard.
Hajun, the Winged Mayakashi starts the combo, as its effect lets you Special Summon 1 Mayakashi from the Deck, primarily targeting Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi.
Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi is a Level 2 Zombie Tuner that can Special Summon itself from the Graveyard each time a Mayakashi monster is summoned from the Extra Deck.
Its effect is not once per turn so you can revive her multiple times in a turn.
Yuki-Musume, the Ice Mayakashi can Special Summon itself from Hand or Graveyard as long as you have a Mayakashi monster on the field. It also sends a Zombie monster like Mezuki from the deck to the Graveyard.
Mayakashi Return is the Deck's main searcher as it can add any Mayakashi card from the Deck to hand or Graveyard.
Mayakashi Winter reduces the ATK/DEF of all monsters your opponent control for every Mayakashi monster in your Graveyard.
It has 2 more effects: send a Mayakashi monster from hand to the Graveyard to draw 1 card. And Banishing itself and 1 Zombie Monster in the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Mayakashi monster from the Graveyard.
Ghost Meets Girl - A Masterful Mayakashi Shiranui Saga prevents both players from Summoning from anywhere except the Graveyard for an entire turn by Tributing a Mayakashi or Shiranui monster. It also has a Graveyard effect that returns a Banished Zombie monster to the Graveyard.
Mezuki is Yuki-Musume, the Ice Mayakashi's primary target to send to the Graveyard. Mezuki can Special Summon any Zombie Monster in the Graveyard by Banishing itself. Use this to extend the combo further.
One for One lets you Special Summon a Level 1 Monster from the Deck. As for this Deck's case, Hajun, the Winged Mayakashi is the go-to target.
Trap Trick copies Ghost Meets Girl - A Masterful Mayakashi Shiranui Saga most of the time, effectively having 5 copies of the Trap card on the deck.
This 1-Card Hajun Combo can easily Synchro Climb, with Link Climbing at the end, easily fueling the Graveyard with a bunch of Mayakashi Synchro Monsters.
Cards like One for One and Mayakashi Return can easily search Hajun, the Winged Mayakashi, effectively making the combo easier to pull off, with a total of 7 copies in the deck that can start the combo.
Required Cards | |
---|---|
Step | Description |
1 | Normal Summon Hajun, the Winged Mayakashi and activate its effect to Special Summon Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi. |
2 | Synchro Summon Oboro-Guruma, the Wheeled Mayakashi using Dakki and Hajun as materials. Activate Dakki's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself. |
3 | Synchro Summon Tsuchigumo, the Poisonous Mayakashi using Dakki and Oboro-Guruma as materials. Activate Dakki's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself. |
4 | Synchro Summon Tengu, the Winged Mayakashi using Dakki and Tsuchigumo as materials. Activate Dakki's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself. |
5 | Synchro Summon Yoko, the Graceful Mayakashi using Dakki and Tengu as materials. Activate Dakki's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself. |
6 | Synchro Summon Gashadokuro, the Skeletal Mayakashi using Dakki and Yoko as materials. Activate Dakki's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself. |
7 | Link Summon Yuki-Onna, the Ice Mayakashi using Dakki and Gashadokuro as materials. Activate Dakki's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself. |
8 | Link Summon Yuki-Onna, the Icicle Mayakashi using Dakki and Yuki-Onna, the Ice Mayakashi as materials. Activate Dakki's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself. |
9 | Link Summon Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi using Dakki and Yuki-Onna, the Icicle Mayakashi as materials. Activate Dakki's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon itself. |
With Yuki-Onna, the Icicle Mayakashi in the Graveyard, and Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi active on the field, you can negate 2 monster effects and reduce the ATK stat of one of them to 0. |
Players tend to misunderstand how Small World works. Monsters should only have 1 stat in common for Small World to work.
Here are some Small World bridges that can be used in the Deck to search Hajun, the Winged Mayakashi.
Hand | Deck | Add |

Mayakashi monsters lock you from Special Summoning other monster types. Adding Eldlich Engine to Mayakashi provides more control options for the deck. With Eldlich in the deck, you will have another win condition thanks to Eldlich the Golden Lord's strong recursion effect and high ATK stats.
The Ishizu Engine excels in setting up the GY for combo plays. This also offers GY-disruption effects thanks to Keldo the Sacred Protector and Mudora the Sword Oracle.
Agido the Ancient Sentinel and Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard fuels the GY by milling multiple cards.
The Ishizu Engine is a double-edged sword, especially when used in high rank as Ishizu Tearlaments became more prevalent.
Floowandereeze utilizes cards like Dimension Shifter and can easily break boards by Tributing Monsters on the field.

Necrovalley is the bane of existence of every Graveyard-centric deck. Gravekeeper's can easily access Necrovalley as it belongs to their archetype.
