Budget True Draco Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

True Draco is a Meta-Buster, or Anti-Meta style deck designed to take advantage of the abundance of specific hand trap staples and powerful effect monsters. One of the main draws of the deck is the ability to lockdown opponents with cards like Skill Drain and The Monarchs Erupt as well as the high Monster and backrow removal.

It plays both an effective midrange and control strategy in response to the opponent's boards

Tribute Traps & Spells not Creatures

The main gimmic of the deck revolves around tributing Continuous Spells and Traps in order to Tribute Summon the True Draco Monsters, thus avoiding having to play any tribute fodder monsters and making Maxx C obsolete against the deck. The Spells and Traps tributed to true Draco Monsters also act as removal as traps will destroy creatures and Spells will destroy backrow cards as they enter the GY.

Core Combos and Interactions

While this deck doesn't have any particular combos it is a very reactionary deck and there are cards that are ideal to have every game.

Draconic Diagram

The singly copy limit of this field spell should hint at just how powerful it is. Draconic Diagram will carry the deck to victory being able to get rid of dead cards in your hand and on your field to fetch a True Draco card from your deck on top of protecting your monsters in battle.

Loop & Recur Tru Draco Cards

Despite running few Monsters overall, the deck will constantly recur and loop Tru Draco cards in and out of the GY. True King's Return, and Diciples of the Dracophoenix will allow you to constantly keep True Draco cards either on the battlefield or in the deck to fetch with True Draco Monsters.

Floodgate Lockdown

Another point of potency for this deck is the density of floodgates, cards that place a heavy restrictions on opponents actions. While the deck runs 3 copies of Skill Drain, The Monarchs Erupt is a strictly better in this deck as it is a one sided Skill Drain that only affects your opponents the only drawback being the necessity of a Tribute Summoned monster and no Extra Deck, all which this deck easily accomplishes.

Card of Demise & No Discard

Due to the density of spells and traps it is quite easy to get around the hand discard draw back of Card of Demise so long as theres is space in your backrow to set the cards you draw. You can almost guarantee the draw 3 if you set your hand before casting, and any True Draco monsters can be cast by tributing any set Continuous Traps or Spells clearing up more backrow.

	No backrow, no summons, no loops. Quick and simple
	Lightning Storm
	Functions similar to Harpie's Feather Duster. True Draco wants to pick boards apart so Lightning Storm is online often.
	Dimensional Fissure
	Shuts down the graveyard loops if it can stick. However this card can be removed easily by True Draco.

Tip!	True Draco removal does not banish & must target so resolved monsters that cannot be destroyed or targeted are very potent.
