Volcanic Snake-Eyes Breakdown

Optional Cards

Volcanic Counter Volcanic Queen Fire Ejection Fire Recovery

There are couple of notable other FIRE and/or "Volcanic" support that did not make the cut, but can be added to the Deck still, depending on the player's preference. Volcanic Counter can be a surprising source of burn damage, and Volcanic Queen is a rare kind of Kaiju-like monster that works within the archetype itself.

Fire Ejection and Fire Recover are both solid ways to utilize or recover resources that are in the GY or are sent there. Make sure to keep in mind what enables your Deck more when adding these Spell Cards.

Snake-Eye Birch Startling Stare of the Snake-Eyes

Snake-Eye Birch being able to Special Summon a monster from the Deck using its Quick Effect can bamboozle the opponent into an unexpected tactic.

As an additional Trap Card, Startling Stare of the Snake-Eyes utilizes monsters that were turned into Continuous Spells/Traps with the help of Flamberge Dragon or Sinful Spoils of Subversion, which can turn even their monsters into yours.

Parallel eXceed Infernal Flame Banshee

This set of cards was used more in the TCG/OCG as Snake-Eyes are rampant there, but this might be a little less conistent now that Parallel eXceed is now marked as a Semi-Limited Card. Nevertheless, it is a great way to play through interruption, using 2 copies of eXceed to Xyz Summon Infernal Flame Banshee, and then continue on from there into your Pyro-type monsters.

Volcanic Snake-Eyes Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Diabellstar Snake-Eye Engine

Key Cards for Diabellstar Snake-Eye Engine
Snake-Eye Ash Snake-Eyes Poplar Diabellstar the Black Witch Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye

This variant of the Volcanic Deck also holds enough cards of the Snake-Eyes Deck that it can be partially used as a Deck Engine. It helps that the Volcanic archetype has a Level 1 FIRE monster, qualifiying them with the type of monster the Snake-Eyes cards synergize with the most.

Players can go for the standard starter with Diabellstar the Black Witch or Snake-Eye Ash, then use Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye to pivot into the Volcanic monsters, specifically with the help of Volcanic Rimfire.

New Volcanic Cards

Volcanic Blaze Accelerator

The most crucial of all the new cards for the Volcanic archetype is Volcanic Blaze Accelerator, and getting it on the field is rather easy. Protect this Continuous Spell Card at all costs, as this provides a free Special Summon from the hand, as well as a once-per-turn card destruction effect by sending a Level 1 Pyro monster from the Deck to the GY.

Volcanic Rimfire Volcanic Trooper Volcanic Emperor

For the monsters, Volcanic Rimfire is what connects the archetype to the Snake-Eye Deck Engine, and provides utility with a Foolish Burial effect and a way to get a "Blaze Accelerator" Continuous Spell on the field.

Volcanic Trooper is the Deck's main starter, having a "Volcanic" card searcher when summoned. It also has a way to summon a Bomb Token on the opponent's side on the field--and this Token is crucial for a certain combo.

The boss monster in the Main Deck is Volcanic Emperor, which can only be summoned by either banishing 3 Pyro-type monsters or a "Blaze Accelerator" card. This monster deals burn damage for every Pyro-monster banished, and deals even more burn damage each time the opponent Special Summons.

Volcanic Emission Volcanic Inferno

The only Spell Cards from the archetype are the Blaze Accelerator cards, but the Trap Cards are no slouches either. Volcanic Emission can Special Summon a "Volcanicquot; monster completely ignoriing its summoning conditions for a turn. That, or it can also inflict even more burn damage based on the ATK of a monster the opponent controls.

Volcanic Inferno further supports the burn damage playstyle, as it can activate its burn effect every time the opponent activates a monster effect on the Field.

Support Cards

Awakening of the Possessed - Greater Inari Fire Nibiru, the Primal Being Bonfire Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai

As this Deck runs a Spellcaster-type monster in Diabellstar, a combo extender that takes advantage of this is Awakening of the Possessed - Greater Inari Fire. On Special Summon, it can deal effect damage based on the ATK of the opponent's monster, and when sent to the GY it can search out Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai--yet another card that can deal burn damage.

Bonfire is the best FIRE searcher in the entire game, and is tailor-made for both the "Snake-Eyes" and the "Volcanic" archetypes. The best part about this Spell Card is that it could be used as bait for possible Ash Blossoms or Crossout Designators the opponent might have on hand.

Extra Deck Monsters

Master Duel - Snake-Eyes

For the most part, the Extra Deck of the Volcanic Snake-Eyes Deck is extremely similar to that of the regular Diabellstar Snake-Eye Deck. A few adjustments here and there are made to accomodate it using only Link Monsters, but it is laregely the same idea.

Relinquished Anima Geonator Transverser Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf

Relinquished Anima can steal monsters that foolishly put monsters directly adjacent to one of the Extra Monster Zones, gaining their ATK for its own. Geonator Transverser helps out in getting high ATK monsters on their side of the field, only to be target fodder for the burn effects.

Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf is mostly a searcher for a FIRE monster, and its restriction from that search effect is negligible. This Link Monster is to simply maintain card advantage.

Core Combos and Interactions

Attention! This portion is in progress, stay tuned until then!

Boss Monsters

Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon
Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon The biggest threat in the Snake-Eyes side of the Deck is Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon, which can both turn monsters into Continuous Spells/Traps, and then eventually Special Summon them during the opponent's turn. If it's sent to the GY in any way? It can Special Summon 2 Level 1 "Snake-Eye" immediately from the GY.
Volcanic Emperor
Volcanic Emperor The newest boss monster added for the "Volcanic" archetype, Volcanic Emperor is the Deck's punisher against Special Summons. It can deal burn damage every time the opponent Special Summons a monster, deal burn damage depending on how it's summoned, and is an easy way to Set one of the "Volcanic" Trap Cards.
Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames
Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames is a key card for the Deck, from being able to Special Summon itself from the GY by destroying cards on the field, to Special Summoning FIRE monsters for free during its user's turn. This Link Monster can sheat out Snake-Eye Flamberge Dragon and Volcanic Emperor
Worldsea Dragon Zealantis
Worldsea Dragon Zealantis Though rather unconventional because of its WATER affinity, World Dragon Zealantis is a suprising boss monster players can run in any Snake-Eye Deck, and this includes this Volcanic variant. Its banishing-and-re-summoning effect can be a game-winning effect if used right.

Tearlaments

Master Duel - Ishizu Tearlaments
A Duel against Tearlaments is more on who manages to get their set up first more than anything, as both Decks rely on having the strongest field possible all set up before the opponent gets their turn.

If Tealraments gets out its boss monsters, especially with newer variants making it easy using Revolution Synchron and Visas Amritara, there might be some trouble breaking through their defenses.
Tearlaments Deck List & Card Guide

Floowandereeze

Floowandereeze Top Image.PNG
Though a tough matchup against Snake-Eyes, Floowandereeze could be a good archetype against this Special Summon-heavy Deck. It helps that it has several floodgates that deny the Graveyard, like Dimension Shifter, Macro Cosmos and Dimensional Fissure at its disposal.
Floowandereeze Deck List & Card Guide

Exosisters

Exosisters Top Image.png
The Exosisters excel in punishing archetypes that move their cards out of the Graveyard, as it allows them to Xyz Summon as a response, and banish cards from the field as Quick Effects. Unless there are ways to deal with their Graveyard lock and Xyz Summons, this might be a surprisingly hard match for Volcanic Snake-Eyes.

Labrynth

Labrynth Top Image.png

Labrynth, even with some several hits on the banlist over the past few months, still remain the strongest control Deck in the game. Its Trap Card options only got stronger with the addition of Transaction Rollback, and now it's even gotten a new way to bring out its key monsters in Arias the Labrynth Butler.

Best Cards to Tech Against Volcanic Snake-Eyes

Macro Cosmos
Macro Cosmos For the most part, both Snake-Eye and Volcanic sides of the Deck use the Graveyard as a necessary resource pool. Denying it with cards like Macro Cosmos, or with similar cards like Necrovalley and Dimensional Fissure can completely mess up both archetypes' game plan.
Skill Drain
Skill Drain Most of the cards in the Deck trigger their effects while face-up on the field. With Skill Drain up, this prevents most of the best cards of the Deck from enabling their strategy, like search effects and Special Summons.
Droll & Lock Bird
Droll & Lock Bird There are a lot of search effects that add cards to the hand in the Volcanic Snake-Eye Deck, with some far more important than others that allows the OTK burn strategy. Droll & Lock Bird will lock out both players from further adding cards to the hand until the End Phase of its activation.
There Can Be Only One
There Can Be Only One There Can Be Only One is one of the strongest floodgates in the entire game, hence it being Limited currently in the banlist. Both players are forced to run only one monster per type--and for a Deck that mostly runs one type (in this case, Pyro), this is a problem for both Volcanic and Snake-Eye archetypes.
Super Polymerization
Super Polymerization With so many of the monsters being similar to one another, Super Polymerization could be a viable option for Fusion-centric Decks to run against Volcanic Snake-Eye--bonus points if they run a copy of Mudragon of the Swamp.
