Budget F.A. Metalfoes Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

This Budget F.A. Metalfoes Deck isn't a meta deck, but can still help you climb up the Ranking Ladder.

This deck revolves around F.A. Hang On Mach, a seemingly unremarkable card at first glance, but has a number of very interesting Effects.

At first glance, a 0ATK/1800DEF Monster seems like it can't do much, but when you read its description, things get a tad bit more interesting. F.A. Hang On Mach gainst attack equal to its Level multiplied by 300. With that, upon summoning it onto the Field, it gains 1200ATK. Plus, it becomes unaffected by any Monster Effect that has a Level lower Level than itself.

But that's not all. Whenever an F.A. Spell/Trap Card Effect is activated, F.A. Hang On Mach gains a level, meaning an additional 300ATK. And when it hits Level 7, any and all monsters your opponent has sent to the GY is banished instead.

Paired with the Metalfoes, you can quickly destroy your F.A. Field Spells which have GY Effects to search for another F.A. Card from the Hand meaning, constantly supplying you with F.A. Spell/Trap Cards to activate, further increasing your F.A. Hang On Mach's Level as well as its Attack, while supplementing your Field with monsters that have effects that pretty much keep more monsters on the Field to be able to use as fodder for any of your Extra Deck Summons.

Sample Combo

Required Cards
F.A. Hang On Mach F.A. Off-Road Grand Prix Metalfoes Volflame
You can use any Metalfoes Monster aside from Metalfoes Volflame.
Step Description
Normal Summon F.A. Hang On Mach onto the Field.
Set and Activate F.A. Off-Road Grand Prix on your Field Spell Zone → This raises your F.A. Hang On Mach to Level 7, giving it 2100 ATK.
P-Scale and Activate Metalfoes Volflame and target the F.A. Off-Road Grand Prix on Field Spell Zone and send it to the GY. → Now, your F.A. Hang On Mach is Level 5 with 1500ATK. → Seach for Metalfoes Counter from your Deck and Send it to your Hand, and set it onto the Field.
Activate F.A. Off-Road Grand Prix's Effect from the GY and search for F.A. City Grand Prix from the Deck and send it to the Hand. → Set and Activate F.A. City Grand Prix raising your F.A. Hang On Mach's Level to 8, giving it 2400ATK.

This is a simple basic Combo that revolves around F.A. Hang On Mach's Effect. With it now at Level 8, all the cards your opponent has that are sent to the GY will be banished instead.

Simply activate F.A. City Grand Prix whenever you can, specifically during both the Main Phase and Battle Phase, and watch your F.A. Hang On Mach's Level and ATK increase every single time.

From there, you can summon another F.A. Hang On Mach, use any and all F.A. Spell/Trap Cards you get whever you have the chance. And, whenever you activate the Effect of the P-Scaled Metalfoes Monster, you can activate your Metalfoes Counter to Special Summon a Metalfoes Monster onto the Field as well.

It's a fun simple combo, leaving you with a lot of room to play it to your liking.

Best Cards to Tech Against Budget F.A. Metalfoes

Lightning Storm
Lightning Storm As Budget F.A. Metalfoes Decks rely on Spells to fully bring out its power, getting rid of your opponent's Spell & Trap Cards will be the key to stopping them at their tracks.
Mystical Space Typhoon
Mystical Space Typhoon Another Card that will help get rid of your opponent's Spell/Trap Cards.
Magic Jammer
Magic Jammer A useful Spell Card Negate that requires you to discard 1 card to negate a Spell Card's activation. Very useful against any of the F.A. Spell Cards.
Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell
Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell A more potent version of Magic Jammer where you're required to discard 1 Spell Card to negate your opponent's Spell Card Activation, but resulting in your opponent not being able to activate that exact same Spell Card throughout the Duel. Very useful again any of the F.A. Spell Cards.
Imperial Order
Imperial Order Probably the strongest Spell Card Negate in the game. This card negates all Spell Cards on the Field at the cost of 700LP each Turn. It's a double-edged sword so use at your own risk.
