Suicide Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle

MD - Suicide Deck Banner

The Playstyle of this Deck is simple, if not weird for Yu-Gi-Oh!: burn yourself with effect damage to lose the Duel as fast as possible. Most of the cards featured in this Deck either have a mandatory Life Point cost to activate this effect, or ways to inflict effect damge to yourself.

Garbage Lord Giant Kozaky Malevolent Mech - Goku En

For example, Garbage Lord, Giant Kozaky and Malevolent Mech - Goku En are objectively bad Monsters because of their effects punshing the player with LP costs for playing them.
However, here, they serve their purpose very well.

Cybernetic Fusion Support Hieroglyph Lithograph Performapal Popperup Toon World

The same can be said for the Spells and Traps. Playing cards that need to pay LP is the strategy of the Deck, while gaining as little advantage as possible. Cybernetic Fusion Support, Toon World and Hieroglyph Lithograph is the most prominent choices, especially the first one because it halves your own LP just to activate it.

Destruction of Destiny Extinction on Schedule Lucky Punch Ring of Destruction

Sure, players can try to cheese a win with the help of Extinction on Schedule, Lucky Punch and especially Ring of Destruction, but for the most part, this is to blast yourself with Effect Damage or a mandatory LP cost to lose the game on purpose, as fast as possible.

Boss Monsters

There are no Boss Monsters in this Deck.

Suicide Deck: Why Should You Play?

Normally in a Duel, the goal is to win the game--either by decreasing Life Points to 0, Decking them out so they cannot draw a card, or through special effects. However, winning a Duel does take time--especially during Events that have unique rulesets like the Fusion and Xyz Festivals.

Master Duel - 2023 Xyz Festival Rerun

However, because surrendering during an Event doesn't give out rewards or points, players are forced to participate in a Duel and see someone come out as a proper winner. It helps that most of the cards in a Suicide Deck are unaffected by the event-exclusive banlist.

So, players would rather lose as quickly as possible to minimize the time spent Dueling, and receiving the minimal event points from losing. Then, the process repeats, and it starts becoming a more time-efficient way to farm an event's rewards.

This says it's a 40 card deck but it's actually 41?
