Voiceless Voice Breakdown

Voiceless Voice Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Master Duel - Voiceless Voice

Voiceless Voice can make a case for itself as one of the best Ritual-based archetypes in Yu-Gi-Oh, regardless of format from TCG, OCG or Master Duel. So few cards, yet so much provided to the archetype--from effect negations, to card destructions, to immunity to card effects--targeted or otherwise.

Voiceless Voice Cards

The two monsters you want to have as soon as possible, either on hand or ont he field, are Lo, the Prayers of the Voiceless Voice and Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice. These two cards must always come together, and the whole strategy of the Deck relies on these two.

Lo, the Prayers of the Voiceless Voice Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice

They each serve their own purpose; Lo provides utility. It can be the entire material cost for a Ritual Summon of a LIGHT Warrior or Dragon-type Ritual Monster, and on Normal Summon it can be easy access into any of the archetype's Continuous Spells or Traps, and it can Special Summon itself from the GY if a LIGHT Warrior or Dragon-type Ritual Monster is Special Summoned on the field.

Skull Guardian is the Deck's main boss monster. Its omni-negate is only active while Lo is on the field, and it gains essentially double its ATK at the same time. On Ritual Summon, it also searches out another LIGHT Warrior or Dragon-type Ritual Monster to add to the hand.

Saffira, Dragon Queen of the Voiceless Voice Sauravis, Dragon Sage of the Voiceless Voice Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended Prayers of the Voiceless Voice

Saffira is one of the Deck's main enablers, sending a Ritual Spell Card from the Deck to the GY to search out Skull Guardian, and banishing itself from the GY in place of a Ritual Spell Card in order to Ritual Summon. The Ritual Spell effect is enough to take the place of Prayers of the Voiceless Voice.

Sauravis, Dragon Sage recycles a Ritual Spell the GY as an effect to Special Summon itself onto the field. It can temporarily Special Summon Skull Guardian from the Deck temporarily, which allows time to provide protection and utility. Same goes with its Ritual variant, Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended, which can negate Special Summon effects and targeted effects.

Barrier of the Voiceless Voice Blessing of the Voiceless Voice Radiance of the Voiceless Voice

The Spells and Trap Cards from this archetype are also equally essential. Most importantof which is Barrier of the Voiceless Voice which makes [red]all LIGHT[/red monsters you control immune to targeted card effects. It also becomes a taunter of sorts, redirecting all attacks to LIGHT Ritual monsters, and it is a free search of an archetype card during the Main Phase.

Blessing recycles the archetype cards back to hand, and it allows a Ritual Summon at any point of the Duel if a monster is Normal or Special Summoned--and that Ritual Summoned monster becomes immune to battle destruction. Radiance has two effects that can be used offensively and defensively, including card destruction.

Support Cards

Diviner of the Herald Trias Hierarchia Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon Dyna Mondo

Generic cards that enable Ritual-based strategies are crucial for the Deck to work. Diviner of the Herald can be used as a combo alongside Trias Hierarchia that guarantees both Lo and Skull Guardian in a combo.

Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon has the ability to negate a Spell Card activation, and it punishes the opponent's Extra Deck Special Summons, dealing effect damage for each one. While in the Pendulum Zone, it can recycle a Ritual Spell back to the Deck.

Dyna Mondo is a helpful Link monster to have in Ritual-centric Decks, allowing players to bring back Rtual Monsters from the GY through its Quick Effect.

Core Combos and Interactions

Lo One-Card Combo

The Deck is so self-sufficient that even a single Lo, Prayers of the Voiceless Voice is enough to make one of the most consistent combos in the game. It ends with three cards that by themselves are strong enough by themselves, and is a perfect starter before going into other plays.

Boss Monsters

Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice
Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice enjoys a boost in ATK and a once-per-turn omni-negate as long as "Lo, Prayers of the Voiceless Voice" is on the field. On Ritual Summon, it provides a search effect, allowing it to set up another Ritual Summon player if the player so wishes.
Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended
Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended provides protection with a negate effect against targeted effects on monsters. It can also bounce back from the fiel to the hand as a negate against a Special Summon from the opponent, and banishes that monster at the same time.
Baronne de Fleur
Baronne de Fleur While the Deck is primarily focused on Ritual Summons, there are a couple of monsters that serve as Tuners. This makes Baronne de Fleur a potent choice yet again due to its useful effects--from the Special Summon, negate and card destruction effects.
Chaos Angel
Chaos Angel Another Synchro Monster to consider is Chaos Angel, which should work nicely due to the Deck having LIGHT and DARK monsters. On Special Summon it banishes a card on the field, and depending on materials used to summon this card it enjoys additional defensive effects.
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World If your field is getting too crowded and the opponent controls a very dangerous monster on the field, the player can opt into Link Summoning Underworld Goddess of the Closed World as a last-ditch effort. It can use a monster the opponent controls as one of the materials. It also negates every other monster once it is Link Summon, and it can negate a Special Summon effect once per turn.

Voiceless Voice Counters: How to Beat

Best Decks to Use Against Voiceless Voice

Kashtira

Master Duel - Kashtira

Kashtira is one of the best Decks that punish monster effects activating while they have their monsters on the field. Kashtira Fenrir and Kashtira Unicorn are especially dangerous, and these two monsters are enough to set up for a pseudo-floodgate in Arise-Heart.

Kashtira Deck List & Card Guide

Yubel

Master Duel - Yubel

If Yubel manages to get a good hand against Voiceless Voice, they can play through a couple of negates and interruptions to get their key monsters on the field. Especially dangerous is their access to Super Polymerization, and all it takes is one Yubel to suddenl get burn damage when the opponent uses your own monsters for Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever.

Yubel Deck List & Card Guide

Horus

Master Duel - Horus

One Continuous Spell for this Deck means up to 4 extremely powerful monsters that do not need to activate anything to be Special Summoned from the GY. They can also trigger the second effect of King's Sarcophagus should they attack with a Horus monster--automatically sending the attacked monster straight to the GY without needing to do damage calculation.

Best Cards to Tech Against Voiceless Voice

Anti-Spell Fragrance
Anti-Spell Fragrance Anti-Spell Fragrance forces both players to Set Spell Cards first before being able to activate it on the next available turn. Considering how Spell Cards are inherently important for any Ritual-based Deck, this also hits Voiecless Voice from being able to reliably access Skull Guardian.
Droll & Lock Bird
Droll & Lock Bird There are quite a number of search effects in a Voiceless Voice Deck, which is why Droll & Lock Bird would immediately shut down any combo that the Deck can put up. Stopping the addition of cards in any shape or form cuts off access to important cards that are still in the Main Deck.
Dark Ruler No More
Dark Ruler No More Dark Ruler No More's activation cannot be stopped by monster effects, and it negates all monsters on the opponent's field. This means that the Skull Guardian's negation effect is rendered ususable until the next turn, but the caveat is that the opponent cannot deal damage for the rest of the turn.
Dimension Shifter
Dimension Shifter Quite a number of cards in this Deck benefit from having cards in the GY. Effects that force them to be banished instead of going to the GY will hurt Voiceless Voice quite a lot; teching Dimension Shifter, or its fellow floodgates like Macro Cosmos and Dimensional Fissure
