Lightsworn Aegis | 1 |
The Lightsworns are the original archetype that specialized in milling cards to the Graveyard from the Deck. For the most part, the mainstays considered include Wulf for its Special Summon effect, and Felis for being a Tuner. One copy each of Judgment Dragon and Punishment Dragon is enough as boss monsters, and is crucial to get into the newer boss monster for the archetype.
The newer additions are the main focus of the Deck. Lightsworn Dragonling is a one-card combo starter and the searchers for the Lightsworn Dragon boss monsters. Weiss can help with Special Sumons of other Lightsworn monsters from the Graveyard. While as a Tuner itself, it can help go into Minerva, the Athenian Lightsworn.
One of the many end goals is Enlightenment Dragon. While its material requirements is very strict, but its effect to banish everything on the field and Graveyard can be a game-winning effect. It can also mill cards during your End Phase, and can be Special Summon both Lightsworn Dragons.
For a Deck that likes to mill out a lot of cards, it's fair to have cards that benefit such a playstyle. One such are the Thunder Dragons, which can have effects whenever they are in the Graveyard or in the Banishment. Dragonhawk and Dragonroar are staples for any Deck that use the archetype, and eventually they can be used to go into the floodgate powerhouse that is Thunder Dragon Colossus.
The Bystials do not like being in the GY, but they do make use of it--especially if they have Light or Dark monsters. Magnamhut searches, Druiswurm punishes the opponent if this card is sent to the GY, and Baldrake deals with Extra Deck monsters.
The Bystial Lubellion acts as a searcher for any of these Bystial monsters, but can also serve as a way to get to the Bystial Spells and Traps easily.
The Horus cards are an easy way to get powerful monsters on the field, and also beeline into Rank 8 Xyz Monsters. So long as King's Sarcophagus is face-up and active on your side of the field, Imsety and Hapi can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard once per turn.
Cards on Hand | |
---|---|
Step | Description |
1 | Activate Tearlaments Scheiren from the hand; send Weiss, Lightsworn Archfiend from the hand to the GY. In this example, the milled cards are Felis, Archlord Kristya, and Chaos Dragon Levianeer. |
2 | Trigger Felis, Lightsworn Archer's effect from the GY; Special Summon it back onto the field. |
3 | Activate Bystial Baldrake from the hand; target Archlord Kristya from the GY, banish it, then Special Summon Baldrake from the hand. |
4 | Using Bystial Baldrake and Felis, Lightsworn Archer as materials, Synchro Summon Bystial Dis Pater. |
5 | Activate King's Sarcophagus from the hand. Then, activate its effect: discard Mudora the Sword Oracle to send Imsety, Glory of Horus from the Main Deck to the GY. Then, due to King's Sarcophagus's passive effect, you can Special Summon Imsety back onto the field. |

Archlord Kristya | |
---|---|
There are actually quite a number of Fairy-type monsters in this Deck Recipe to be able to Special Summon Archlord Kristya on the field. Once you have, it stops both players from Special Summoning so long as this card is face-up on the field. | |
Enlightenment Dragon | |
It will not be easy to get Enlightenment Dragon out on the field due to material requirements, but its effects are quite worth it. A once-per-turn banishing of the entire field and GYs, and an automatic milling every End Phase can net some massive card advantage. Its floating effect brings out both Judgment Dragon and Punishment Dragon out on the field despite their own requirements! | |
Bystial Dis Pater | |
Because your Deck has a lot of Chaos-esque effects, banished materials are aplenty to be used by Bystial Dis Pater. This automatically provides a once-per-turn omni-negate, and a once-per-turn Special Summon of a banished LIGHT/DARK monster onto the field. | |
Thunder Dragon Colossus | |
With some Thunder Dragon cards added to the Decklist, it only seems natural to add Thunder Dragon Colossus to the Extra Deck. So long as it is on the field, it acts as a floodgate against all search effects, only allowing the addition of cards via drawing. |
Kashtira's simple combo into Arise-Heart makes this one of the worst Decks to deal against as a Lightsworn player. Most of the Main Deck monsters also punish monster effects if they are on the field. Especially hurting is Kashtira Unicorn which messes up the Extra Deck, and Kashtira Fenrir which can banish monsters on the field.
Kashtira Deck List & Card Guide
Quite a lot of the GY effects in a Lightsworn Deck involve moving cards out of the GY for various reasons. Exosisters are the best Deck to deal with this kind of playstyle, and can ultimately punish a Lightsworn Deck. If the cards are right, one move of a card out of the Graveyard can result in multiple Xyz Summons, and denial of the GY in the process among other interruptions.
Exosister Deck List & Card Guide
Floowandereeze still holds up well as an Anti-Meta, Anti-Special Summon Deck that also denies the GY as a resource pool. It also hurts any attempts of a play due to the boss monsters being floodgates, like with Empen disabling Special Summoned monsters' effects, and Apex Avian having a soft once-per-turn negate effect.

Dimension Shifter | |
---|---|
Dimension Shifter is the worst card that this Deck can face, especially if they cannot negate it via Called by the Grave. For two turns, it banishes all cards sent to the GY, which for some cards this Deck wants, but a majority would prefer being sent to the GY instead. | |
Macro Cosmos | |
Much like Dimension Shifter, Macro Cosmos banishes all cards that were meant to be sent to the GY instead. This is a little easier to deal with, alongside its weaker Spell Card counterpart Dimensional Fissure, as it needs to be face-up on the field for the effect to be active | |
Kashtira Arise-Heart | |
As a boss monster, Kashtira Arise-Heart is the Deck's worst nightmare. It has the same card-banishing effect as the two cards mentioned above, but this time it also absorbs cards into itself as material for every instance of a card being banished. IT can also use its effect once-per-turn to banish a card on the field face-down. |
