Link is a type of monster card in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. Use these staples to see what makes them the best cards in the game!
Accesscode Talker works well as a finisher and a form of card negation. This card's main strength is if it was Link Summoned using a Link Monster, Accesscode Talker gains ATK equal to the product of said Link Monster's Rating and 1000. This is on top of the added effect of preventing your opponent from countering this card's summon.
Saryuja Skull Dread is a versatile card that offers support and power. This card gives you different options depending on how many monsters you use to Link Summon. This, of course, comes on top of Saryuja Skull Dread having 2800 ATK.
Borrelsword Dragon is the very definition of a beatstick, as this card offers you nothing but ATK power due to its effects. The turn this card is summoned, it gives you the option to attack twice.
This effect is useful because you can choose an attack position monster and change it to Defense Position. In addition, Borrelsword Dragon halves a target monster's ATK and adds that to its own.
Knightmare Unicorn is a value engine as it offers you both card removal and draw power. The turn this card is Link Summoned, you can discard one card and choose a target on the field to shuffle it into its owner's deck. Plus, this card draws you an additional card if it was co-linked the turn you activate its effect.
Similar to its unicorn counterpart, Knightmare Phoenix gives you removal and card draw. You can use this card's effect to choose and banish an opposing Spell or Trap card. Furthermore, you draw a card if Knightmare Phoenix was co-linked the turn you activated its effect.
Crystron Halqifibrax is a great combo piece to have in decks that rely on chain Special Summons. This card gives you the option Special Summon one Level 3 or lower Tuner from your hand or Deck in Defense Position. What's more, is that you can also banish this card to Special Summon one Tuner Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck.
This card has been so good, it's become Forbidden to use in Ranked Duels.
Apollousa, Bow Of The Goddess continuously gives you the option of negating card activation in addition to having a high base ATK if summoned properly. This card's ATK becomes 800 x the number of Link Materials used for its Link Summon. Additionally, you can make this card lose 800 ATK to negate an opposing monster card's effect from activating.
Often paired with I:P Masquerena to become even more unkillable, Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax is extremely strong when it comes to the Battle Phase. Once per battle gains the ATK of the (Special Summoned) monster it battles during damage calculation.
This card is also immune to targeted card effects, forces the opponent to attack this monster first, and shuffles a card they control to the Deck if they manage to send this monster from the field to the GY.
Update Jammer is a staple for any Cyberse deck. It provides strong pressure as it gives any Link Monster that used this card as material an ability to attack twice. Commonly paired with Accesscode Talker and Transcode Talker. This card can close out games thanks to its strong offensive effect.
Players that have this card can use one monster the opponent controls as part of its materials to summon Underworld Goddess of the Closed World. Then, after being Link Summoned, this monster immediately negates every Effect Monster the opponent controls upon being summoned.
Only targeted effects can affect this Link Monster, and can negate Special Summon effects once per turn.
One of the peskiest Link Monsters on the list, I:P Masquerena lets the players Link Summon during the opponent's turn, using this card as material. The Link Monster summoned using this monster as material gains a card destruction effect immunirty.
This is often used to bring out boss monsters that are already hard to remove from the field.
Decks that are predominantly using Pendulum Monsters directly benefit from Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. Providing a free draw and a search once conditions are fulfilled provides quite a card advantage for the player.
Whenever Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen is Special Summoned, it gets to banish a card from the field. This effect can also be triggered if a Beast, Winged Beast or Beast-Warrior monster is Special Summoned while this card is on the field.
If sent to the GY, it adds one of the aforementioned monster types to the hand that has a Level equal or less than the number of your banished monsters of those types.
Often associated with the Destiny Phoenix Enforcer engine, Predaplant Verte Anaconda is essentially a Fusion Spell in a Link Monster. This monster can be slotted in any Fusion-centric Deck as a combo piece that provides an additional Fusion.
Spright Elf is a very powerful monster for Decks that can run Level 2, Rank 2 or LINK-2 monsters.
The fact that it can Special Summon from the GY monsters of the aforementioned traits can generate a lot of card advantage by itself.
Link Monsters are the newest form of monsters found in the Extra Deck. These cards work well in unison with one another, as they can only be summoned in the Extra Monster Zone or where other Link Monsters are pointing towards with their Link Markers.
These Monsters have found a home in tons of Decks such as, but not limited to, Sky Strikers, Virtual World, Red-Eyes Black Dragon, among many others. This is due to how versatile and game-changing their effects are, and how flexible they can be while building a Deck's strategy.
