Drytron Fairy Deck Guide: How to Play

Section Undergoing Renovation - Information Updated Soon!

Playstyle and Win Condition (First Turn)

A Drytron turn 1 should focus on getting Ultimateness up on the field while having lots of faeries in hand. Below are the steps you need to do on your first turn.

Combo Your Drytrons with Benten

Stacking up on Drytron effects such as fetching ritual spells and ritual summons is your goal. Make use of the Drytron's synergy with Benten to greatly increase your resources from both the hand and the GY.

Stack up on Faeries with Herald of Ultimateness on Board

Your first and immediate goal would be to stack up on fairy cards in your hand. To do this, we'll be relying on most of the combos available in the deck.

End Your Turn Then Cancel all Enemy Advances

After ending your turn, negate all possible combo starters from the enemy. This mostly consists of special summons and card draws. Ultimateness also destroys a creature if its effects are negated so knowing which effect to cancel is vital to preserving your faeries in hand.

Playstyle and Win Condition (Second Turn)

Stack up on Drytrons in your GY and Fetch Benten

Same turn sequence as your first turn but with a focus on getting some of your combo starters in your GY and Hand.

Set Gamma and XYZ summon Lyrilusc

Gamma is an easy way to get two Drytrons into your field immediately. With two Level 1, we can easily XYZ summon Lyrilusc that will grant us a free attack.

XYZ Summon Zeus from Downerd Magician

Proceed to MP 2 then XYZ summon Downered Magician then use Downered Magician as a resource. This will grant Zeus four materials for a Board Wipe.

Core Combos and Interactions

Drytron Effects

Our Drytrons are the deck's main Ritual engine to get enough resources for summoning Herald of Ultimateness while having enough faeries for unlimited negates.

Alpha Sacrifices a Drytron or Ritual Monster to get a Ritual Monster.
Delta Sacrifices a Drytron or Ritual Monster to get a Free Draw.
Gamma Sacrifices a Drytron or a Ritual Monster to enter the field and Special Summon another Drytron from the GY.
Zetta Sacrifices a Drytron or a Ritual Monster to get a Ritual Spell.

Ritual Monsters

Cyber Angel Benten is the main reason why we have a nearly unstoppable fetch engine. Make sure to sacrifice Benten whenever you can but make sure that you always have at least 1 Benten on your hand if you wish to continue your combos. Always Sacrifice Benten if you have an extra in your hand.

Cyber Angel Benten Used as a hand sacrifice to continue having enough resource for special summoning new drytrons. Another use is to be ritual summoned with an extra Meteonis Drytron to XYZ Summon Lady Beatrice for more faeries at hand.
Cyber Angel Natasha Main use is to get a hold of a creature that your enemy has for a potential link summon or even use it as an attacking monster for lethal.

Fetch Spells

Cyber Emergency A free fetch card for any of your Drytrons. Take a look at your hand and see what you're missing and choose a Drytron accordingly. Alpha if you have a Ritual Spell, Zeta if you have a Benten/Ritual Mons, Delta if both. Never take Gamma unless all 3 are already in the field/GY.
Preparation Rites One of your safest plays as a first move since its only goal is to fetch a Benten (which can be done easily by other effects)
Drytron Nova Used for several functions in the deck such as a free XYZ material for Fafnir, to get a tribute in case you mess up your combo/run out of materials to tribute, for an extra link material. The creature dies after the turn so make sure to do at least one of the ff to the summoned card.

Faeries

Eva Your main Faeries fetcher for Herald of Ultimateness. Make sure to have at least 2 faeries on the GY before sending this on there to maximize its effect.
Herald of Orange Light A free negate for Ultimateness but don't hesitate to use its own effect even if its more costly in case of emergencies as it also destroys the monster that used its effect.
Diviner of the Herald Your main extra ritual fetcher. It has 3 main uses which are the ff:
1. To discard Herald of the Arc Light to the GY to fetch a Ritual Spell or Monster. Prioritize Benten if you don't have any, otherwise, get Herald of Ultimateness.
2.To take down a key target by discarding Elder Entity N'tss to the Gy.
3. To be used as an XYZ material for Lady Beatrice if you have a Benten on the field. This can allow you to dispatch 2 Evas for a potential 4 negates for Ultimateness.

Extra Deck

Link Knightmare Links: Get Knightmare Unicorn/Phoenix to remove a target from enemy field.
Lvl 1 Links: Linkuriboh/Relinquished to instantly send a monster to the GY (can combo with Drytron Nova). Link Summon Relinquished as a possible punish to mispositioned monsters on the enemy field. Otherwise, use Linkuriboh for an additional layer of defense.
I:P Masquerena Can Link Summon a Card during enemy turn and prevents the summoned card to die from card effect. Use this to summon Accesscode Talker to add a layer of safety to it on the Enemy's Turn or a Knightmare Unicorn for combo interruption.
Union Train A combo extender. Use this to fetch an Eva from your deck. Since this card gains 1000 atk points when equipped with a card, it is a perfect Ritual Sacrifice for Ultimateness to instantly fetch 2 faeries from the deck or as an additional link summon material. Both will still send Eva to the GY.
Zeus Combo To summon Zeus easily, XYZ summon Lyrilusc then attack the enemy directly using its effect. On MP 2, XYZ summon Downerd Magician with it then XYZ summon Zeus using Downerd Magician. This extra step grants Zeus 4 materials for a potential double board wipe.
Lady Beatrice To summon Beatrice, you must have a summoned Benten in the field as well as a Diviner of the Herald that sent a lvl 4 monster from the extra deck to the GY. This will get you two lvl 6 monsters. Lady Beatrice can then send two EVA to the GY (one on your turn and one during the enemy turn) for free four faeries on your hand.
Elder Entity N'tss and Herald of the Arc Light Primarily used as a card to be sent to the GY by Diviner of the Herald. Discard N'tss to destroy a card and send Herald of the Arc to fetch a ritual monster/spell.

Win Conditions

Herald of Ultimateness Get a lot of faeries by using your fetch cards and completely negate every retaliation your enemy has until they run out of resources.
Zeus Wipe the whole board to reset the enemy's pace and open them up for lethal by summoning more Drytrons again from your GY. Can wipe twice if Lyrilusc and Downerd Magician were used for its summoning.
Accesscode Talker Your big hitter and is your main answer against enemies that have huge cards like Blue Eyes Chaos Maxx. Make sure to still follow this card up with Herald even if you don't have max faeries to at least add a layer of protection to it.

Core Combos and Interactions

Zeta + Alpha + Benten

Drytron Alpha Thuban Drytron Zeta Aldhibah Cyber Angel Benten

This is your main trio for fetching the very base play you need. Have a Ritual Spell, have a Ritual Monster, and have a card that can fetch Diviner or more Bentens (Benten can add another Benten to your hand if sent to the GY via tribute). When special summoning both Zeta and Alpha, make sure to use Benten as your tribute.

Gamma into Link Summon/XYZ

Drytron Gamma Eltanin Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale

Gamma can instantly summon 2 cards into the field as long as you have extra Drytrons on your GY. This can be potentially comboed into a Fafnir for an easy ritual summoning + a card with 2000 atk points in atk position, or use as a Link Summon together with more creatures to potentially summon Accesscode Talker, or use as an XYZ to summon Lyrilusc to get a Zeus on MP2.

Diviner of the Herald into Fetch/Destroy

Diviner of the Herald Elder Entity N Herald of the Arc Light

An easy destroy/fetch tool depending on your need. Make sure to get Diviner via Benten if you have no more Bentens in your Deck as Herald of the Arc Light can easily fetch Herald of Ultimateness.

Drytron Nova into Linkuriboh/Relinquished Anima

Drytron Nova Linkuriboh Relinquished Anima

A simple trick to get a Link 1 card into the field while offsetting Drytron Nova's negative effect. Sending the summoned Drytron to the GY also allows it to be used that can potentially combo into Benten + another Drytron again.

Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale into Zeus

Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale Downerd Magician Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder

An easy way to get Zeus out of the extra deck. Make Lyrilusc attack on battle phase then proceed to MP 2. XYZ summon Downerd Magician then XYZ summon Downerd Magician to easily get a 4 material Zeus.

Union Train + Eva + Ritual Tribute/Link Summon

Union Carrier Knightmare Unicorn Meteonis Drytron

Union Carrier is one of the easiest way to fetch an Eva from the deck. it's also a Link 2 which can be an easy way to get a Knightmare Unicorn or even Accesscode Talker and all the while, getting two faeries into your hand. Alternatively, it can also be used as a ritual summon material to get an instant double fairy card to your hand while being able to pop Herald of Ultimateness into the field.

Budget Drytron Fairy: F2P Friendly

Lower Rarity Replacements

Mystical Space Typhoon If you don't have resources for board wipes (especially for back row) Mystical Space Typhoon can help alleviate the deck cost.
Twin Twisters Another quick spell that can aid in taking down back row cards. Works well with Drytron since you have several cards that can easily be thrown away in the GY.
D.D. Crow A cheaper Hand Trap that works wonders against decks that uses the GY as their second hand or decks that rely on GY synergies.
Knightmare Phoenix A relatively cheaper card than the more commonly used I:P Masquerena for Drytrons. However, it has less safety than Masquerena as Masquerena allows Accesscode Talker a safe turn thanks to its effect.
Forbidden Droplet Against mirror matches. Negate their primary negate tool!

Drytron Fairy Counters: How to Beat

Deck Counters

Eldlich

Eldlich.png

Eldlich has nasty negates like Skill Drain that can greatly hinder your combos. This is our primary reason to slot in more back row removals to get rid of Eldlich's traps.

Best Cards to Tech Against Drytron Fairy

Nibiru, the Primal Being
Nibiru, the Primal Being Can potentially cancel your link summons/Drytrons. Just don't wait too long to use it or you might get countered by Herald of Ultimateness.
Maxx "C"
Maxx "C" Gives insane value as Drytrons revolve around special summoning cards.
Called by the Grave
Called by the Grave Can heavily negate your combos especially if Benten is targeted.
Dimensional Fissure
Dimensional Fissure Completely blocks your Drytron combos.
Forbidden Droplet
Forbidden Droplet Stops your Herald of Ultimateness from negating enemies.

Negate Its Benten

Drytron relies on its insane combos with the Drytron and Benten synergy. Cutting off its chains especially its Benten can greatly hamper its combos and can even outright cancel their whole turn depending on their current hand.
