Evil★Twin Breakdown

Evil★Twin Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

At its core, Evil is a combo-style deck that aims to bring out its boss monsters as soon as it can to finish the duel. And while it has the necessary pieces to mitigate aggro, it can't reliably play a control-style. This means you have to dig for the right pieces to get the ball rolling on your combo plays.

Core Combos and Interaction

Two-Card Combo

Required Cards
Live☆Twin Ki-sikil Secret Password
Normal Summon Live☆Twin Ki-sikil to Special Summon Live☆Twin Lil-la.
Activate Secret Password to draw Live☆Twin Sunny's Snitch.
Play Live☆Twin Sunny's Snitch to activate its effect and draw Live☆Twin Ki-sikil Frost.
Special Summon Live☆Twin Ki-sikil Frost then Link Summon Link Disciple using your Lil-la.
Link Summon Link Devotee and place it behind Link Disciple.
Activate Disciple's effect to tribute Devotee to draw a card and summon two Tokens.
Use the Tokens to Special Summon I:P Masquerena. Then use Disciple and I:P Masquerena to Special Summon Evil★Twin Ki-sikil.
Use Ki-sikil's effect to summon Live☆Twin Lil-la from the Graveyard. Use these two to Special Summon Evil★Twin Lil-la from your Extra Deck. Lil-la will then summon Ki-sikil, which will draw you another card.
Finally, use the two Evil☆Twins to summon Evil☆Twin Ki-sikil again.

This board will net you card and board advantage, as well as a way to answer whatever cards or monsters are played during your opponent's turn. Evil☆Twin Ki-sikil can bring out Evil★Twin Lil-la, which can destroy any card on the field.

After this combo, it's up to you to navigate the duel depending on what board is staring you down. You should have the necessary cards to deal with most situations.

Boss Monsters

Evil★Twin Ki-sikil
Evil★Twin Ki-sikil This deck is built on the two Evil Twin sisters. One of them, Evil★Twin Ki-sikil, gives you a constant card draw engine. This card is one of the two backbones of the deck.
Evil★Twin Lil-la
Evil★Twin Lil-la Evil★Twin Lila, on the other hand, provides removal which gives you a direct answer to threats brought out by your opponents. Like Ki-sikil, this card is one of the backones of the deck.

Evil★Twin is a unique deck when it comes to their Boss Monsters. The two twins' effect can special summon one another, but you have to know the state of the board to know which one to summon first.

Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder
Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder While not a Link Monster, Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder is a secondary Boss monster that can control the field even during the opponent's turn. Being able to send all cards on the field to the Graveyard except itself means players have to deal with it first before setting up their field.

For a Link Monster-heavy Deck like Evil★Twin, an Xyz Monster may look out of place, but the Deck is one of the few that can manage adding this card as a secondary option.

Best Decks to Use Against Evil★Twin

Dragon Link

Dragon Link Banner

Dragon Link has quite a number of ways to initiate their combo, so much so that Evil★Twin could have trouble stopping the combo from the sheer number of ways it can start.

Thunder Dragons

Thunder Dragon Deck Top Image

Like Dragon Link, a Thunder Dragon Deck has a lot of ways of maintaining advantage on the field. Just sending its monsters to the Graveyard using Lil-la and Ki-sikil and even the new boss monster Evil★Twin's Trouble Sunny is not enough.

Branded Despia

This is more of a skill and luck-based result when going up against Branded Despia, or any Deck using the Branded Fusion Engine. Depending on who has the better resources on the first few turns, either Deck can come out on top. When going up against a Branded Despia, make sure to think the plays through--they will try to answer back using your own monsters using Fallen of Albaz.

"Use the Tokens to Special Summon I:P Masquerena. Then use Disciple and I:P Masquerena to Special Summon Evil★Twin Ki-sikil." You can't summon Evil Twin Ki-sikil using Disciple+Masquerena, because she needs either Live Twin Ki-sikil or Ki-sikil Frost, with this combo you're supposed to set a play for next turn and summon Knightmare Unicorn or any L3. Also, wasting Masquerena's effect on Ki-sikil? Who makes these guides?
