Branded Cyber Dragon Breakdown

Branded Cyber Dragon Deck Guide: How to Play

The Branded Fusion Engine has begun making its rounds being splashed into other Decks might enjoy some control on the side as a play style. The mix of offense and defence makes it a popular Fusion-based engine to splash, and the synergy gets even more powerful if the Deck is heavily leaning on LIGHT or DARK monsters.

Through this, the Branded Engine gives the Cyber Dragons some defensive options, as the latter have been a more offensive Deck with firepower reaching ludicrous levels.

Cyber Dragon Cyber Dragon Drei Cyber Dragon Vier Cyber Dragon Core Cyber Dragon Nachster Cyber Dragon Herz
Cyber Emergency Cyber Repair Plant Machine Duplication

The classic Cyber Dragon staples for the Main Deck are have not changed much. Cyber Dragon, Cyber Dragon Drei and Cyber Dragon Vier are the best Cyber Dragon monsters to run in any Cyber Dragon Deck, while Cyber Dragon Core, Cyber Dragon Herz and Cyber Dragon Nachster are the primary supports for resource management and field set-up.

Cyber Twin Dragon Cyber End Dragon Chimeratech Rampage Dragon Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon Power Bond [

The Cyber Dragon Fusion Monsters are often game-enders when brought out with Power Bond, which doubles the ATK of the monster at the cost of dealing self-inflicted burn damage equivalent to its original ATK. Cyber Twin Dragon can attack twice in a row, Chimeratech Rampage Dragon can attack multiple times and destroy multiple cards in a single effect, Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon can use monsters in nthe Extra Monster Zone as material if the opponent happenns to control one there, and Cyber End Dragon can pierce through Defense Position Monsters with 4000 base ATK.

Cyber Dragon Nova Cyber Dragon Infinity Cyber Dragon Sieger

The non-Fusion Cyber Dragon boss monsters are no slouches too, and provide alternate options. Cyber Dragon Nova can boost the ATK of Cyber Dragon monsters and can be a one-card transition into Cyber Dragon Infinity. The aforementioned Xyz Monster has an omni-negate effect, and can absorb monsters into its material. Cyber Dragon Sieger also boosts Cyber Dragons' stats, and acts as a floodgate for attacks since it can block out damage from an attack.

Fallen of Albaz Aluber the Jester of Despia Shaddoll Beast Branded Fusion Branded in Red

The Branded Fusion Engine specializes in Fusion Summoning, being able to build a field with so little resources at hand. Fallen of Albaz and Aluber the Jester of Despia are the key cards in making this Deck work, as with the Spell Cards Branded Fusion and Branded in Red. Shaddoll Beast is an additional card that can be used as material fodder, as when sent to the GY through an effect, the player can draw a card for free.

Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon Masquerade the Blazing Dragon Titaniklad the Ash Dragon Albion the Branded Dragon Lubellion the Searing Dragon

Mirrorjade, Masquerade, Titaniklad, Lubellion and Albion are the five Fusion Monsters that come with the Branded Fusion engine. Because the Fusion Monsters in the Extra Deck in this Deck Recipe are more reserved for the Cyber Dragons, it's recommended to have only one copy of each of the five, but players can adjust accordingly to their tastes.

Boss Monsters

Cyber End Dragon
Cyber End Dragon A classic Boss Monster for Cyber Dragon decks, Cyber End Dragon is the strongest monster in the Deck Recipe from sheer firepower alone. 4000 ATK that pierces through Defense Position monsters is devastating, and can be made dangerous once its ATK is doubled when Fusion Summoned through the use of Power Bond.
Chimeratech Rampage Dragon
Chimeratech Rampage Dragon A frequent game-ender among Cyber Dragon decks, Chimeratech Rampage Dragon not only destroy the opponent's backrow, but it can also attack up to three times through its effect. Often summoned through Power Bond, a multi-attack monster with 4200 ATK is a scary sight.
Cyber Dragon Infinity
Cyber Dragon Infinity The boss Xyz Monster for Cyber Dragon Decks, Cyber Dragon Infinity is very easy to bring out due to needing a Cyber Dragon Nova and absorb its attached materials as its own. Its once-per-turn omni-negate effect is very effective for this Deck's control playstyle, and the ability to absorb a monster from either side of the field is unparalleled.
Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon
Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon may have a very daunting Fusion Material requirement of needing either a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monster besides Fallen of Albaz, but this new card quickly became a Branded Deck's top boss monster. It can banish a monster from the field every other turn, and it also has a floating effect that destroys all Attack Position the monsters the opponent controls.
Masquerade the Blazing Dragon
Masquerade the Blazing Dragon Masquerade the Blazing Dragon pressures the opponent into using as few effects as possible, as for every effect that resolves, this monster deals burn damage--and it has no restriction. A popular strategy involving this Fusion Monster is to get 2 or even all 3 copies summoned to the field, daring the opponent to burn itself to defeat for every effect they activate and resolve.

Branded Cyber Dragon Counters: How to Beat

Best Decks to Use Against Branded Despia

Branded Despia

Branded Despia Top Image

Branded Despia can be considered the best Deck in the game as of writing's current meta. Its ability to control the pace with a couple of Masquerades on the field, the ability to Fusion Summon during your own turn with Branded in Red, and the more dedicated synergy between the two archetypes makes it a far better Deck compared to Branded Cyber Dragons.

Branded Despia Deck Guide

Floowandereeze

Floowandereeze Top Image

While Floowandereeze players dread the burn effect from Masquerade, it is still a very strong card in the current metagame. The fact that it can do Normal Summons instead of Special Summons during the opponent's turn means it could surprise any Branded Fusion-using player with effects before they were even done setting up.

Floowandereeze Deck Guide

Dragon Link

Dragon Link Banner

Dragon Link Decks also got a bit of a boost thanks in part to the addition of Borrelend Dragon, which ironically comes from the same Selection Pack in The Newborn Dragon. Going second as a Dragon Link player versus Branded Fusion-based in general might require a bit more luck, but with the right set up this Deck can take on anything.

Best Cards to Tech Against Branded Despia

Dark Ruler No More
Dark Ruler No More The main source of power for the Deck's Control playstyle is the myriad of effects from its Fusion Monsters, especailly if it's anything as pesky as Masquerade's burn damage. While it might lock out the user from dealing any damage to the opponent, Dark Ruler No More effectively negates all the effects of the opponent's monsters for a turn.
Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju
Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju Kaijus in general are a magnificent counter to the Fusion Monsters in a Branded Despia Deck, as tributing them does not trigger any kind of effect, even Masquerade's burn damage effect. Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju just so happens to have the lowest ATK among the Kaiju monsters.
Forbidden Droplet
Forbidden Droplet At the cost of discarding cards equal to the number of Monster Cards targetted, not only will Forbidden Droplet drop their respective ATKs, it also negates their effects. The opponent also cannot respond to this Quick Spell using the type of cards that were discarded to activate.
Skill Drain
Skill Drain Costing 1000 LP to activate Skill Drain is a good trade off to negate all active effects on the field, even though it also affect your own monsters. This lockdown remains active so long as the Continuous Trap remains face-up on the field, so expect the Branded Despia Deck to find a way to destroy this card.
Non-Fusion Area
Non-Fusion Area Outright preventing the ability to conduct any Fusion Summon at all immediately cripples both the Cyber Dragons and the Branded Engine. Non-Fusion Area is a great consideration to add to Decks, as it prevents both players from fusing monsters so long as it remains face-up on the field.
