Error Code 700004 can occur when players attempt to activate the Premium Battle Pass. A pop-up message will appear telling you that you cannot activate the battle pass, and you must log out to access the new season. However, logging out and logging in again does not seem to fix this issue.

For Windows Users

Diablo 4 - Task Manager

A fellow player in the comments has suggested a fix for the error. First, you should log into a non-seasonal character and close the game after you get in. Then, open up Task Manager by searching it on the Windows search bar, and in the app, click on Battle.Net and press End Task to shut it down. Afterwards, open up Battle.Net and log back in to Diablo 4 with your seasonal character.

Some players on the Blizzard forums have noted that you may need to restart the Battle.Net client several times, or you may need to sign out of Battle.Net, to resolve the error code.

For Xbox Users

Those on Xbox can similarly try logging into their non-seasonal character, and after getting in, do a full restart of their Xbox console by holding the Xbox power button on the console for several seconds. After it shuts down, press it again and launch Diablo 4, and log in with your seasonal character.

Currently, Blizzard has no official response about the issue, but it is best to submit a ticket on their official support page so that your account can be flagged for attention about this issue. Since this is a problem regarding in-game purchases, it is likely Blizzard will roll out a patch to fix it as soon as possible.

Update: logged into a different character that wasnt in the seasonal. after getting into the game as that character, i logged out of the whole game to restart the game. then retried to login to my seasonal character and it fixed it
