Complete the Campaign at Least Once

Diablo 4 - Skip Campaign for Secondary Characters

It is recommended to complete the main campaign so you can skip it on your seasonal character. Skipping the campaign will allow you to dive directly into Season of the Malignant's new questline and Seasonal Journey.

Discover All Areas of Sanctuary

Diablo 4 - Discover All Areas of Sanctuary

Areas that you have already discovered will carry over to season one. Renown gained from discovering areas will also carry over, so if you still have some blank spots in your map, try to uncover them as soon as you can!

Take note that you will need to log in with an existing character with the most map progress to carry over your discovered areas.

Find All Altars of Lilith

Rewards obtained from Altars of Lilith like Renown, bonus stats, and Murmuring Obol capacity will also carry over to season one. These will give you a massive head start early on in Season of the Malignant.

In order to participate in season one, you will need to create a new character in the Seasonal Realm. It is wise to have your next character planned out beforehand so you can focus on knocking down objectives in the Seasonal Journey.

Seasonal characters will be moved to the Eternal Realm once the season is over, so no need to worry about losing your character!
