Diablo 4 - How to Farm Potent Blood
This is a guide to farming Potent Blood, a primary currency you can spend to unlock and upgrade Vampiric Powers in Diablo 4 (D4) Season 2! Read on to learn how to farm potent blood, all the possible ways to get Potent Blood, and the best ways to use Potent Blood!

How to Get Potent Blood

Prioritize Defeating Blood Seekers

Blood Seekers
Blood Seekers are your primary way of obtaining Potent Blood. You can get a decent amount which ranges from 15 to 20 potent Blood from a single Blood Seeker. Blood Seekers will spawn from Sanguine Altars but to activate these altars, you'll first have to spend Blood Lures.

Blood Seekers Summoned by Others Drop Potent Blood

Even if you don't have the necessary amount of Potent Blood, being near Sanguine Altars will still prove beneficial as you can assist other players who are fighting their summoned Blood Seekers. This will allow that player and also you to obtain Potent Blood so there are no negatives to assisting other players that are currently in combat with Blood Seekers.

Open Seekers Caches

Seekers Caches
This is the second most efficient way to obtain Potent Blood. Seekers Caches are scattered around the map and to open them, you'll need to use a seeker's key. However, we are only marking these as the second-best method due to the unreliability of obtaining Potent Blood from these chests. The rewards are not shared between random players but it is shared between party members, so only one player will need to open the chest for its contents to be obtained by all party members.

Redeem Hunter Board Rewards

The least efficient method is to redeem the rewards from the Hunter Acclaim Board. These are one-time rewards but they do offer several benefits such as items, Potent Blood, and even Vampire Pacts so you cannot necessarily farm these but it is good to redeem the rewards when you have progressed your Hunter Board milestones.

Best Way to Farm Potent Blood

Group up as a Party

Diablo 4 - Party Boost

The best way to farm Potent Blood is by grouping up with other party members. This will allow you to maximize all of your resources because only one party member will need to spend their hard-earned resources to activate season 2 related events.

Farm in Blood Harvest Areas

Blood Harvest
Potent Blood's objectives can all be obtained in areas that are currently in Blood Harvest. This is similar to Helltides but with a shade of green and from here, there will be several vampire units that can drop blood lures, and eliminating several vampire units will also occasionally summon Blood Seekers which adds more value to farming in these spots.

Hunt Blood Seekers

Blood Seekers
Blood Seekers are guaranteed to drop Potent Blood upon defeating them. Even if you're playing solo, it's best to assist other players who are trying to battle Blood Seekers they have summoned. And if you are in a group, you can all gather Blood Lures and activate Sanguine Altars one by one so if you all have 15 Blood Lures, each of you can obtain drops from 8 Blood Seekers!

Travel and Open Seeker Chests as a Group

Another benefit of grouping up is the way Seeker Chests work. If a party member has opened a Seeker's chest, other party members can also obtain rewards from the chests that the player has opened. If each player has a hundred keys which isn't that difficult to farm, you can get a total net worth of 400 seekers' caches if you all have the time to roam the map and keep opening chests.

What is Potent Blood?

Used to Unlock Vampiric Powers

D4 Season of Blood - Unlock Vampiric Powers

Potent Blood is a unique currency in Diablo 4's season 2 content. It's used to Vampire Pacts which is another set of powers that you can equip to your characters to gain new effects when in combat.

Used to Upgrade Existing Powers

Aside from Unlocking Vampiric Powers, you can also use Potent Blood to upgrade existing Vampire Powers. Every time you choose to spend Potent Blood to upgrade an existing vampiric power, you can only give 1 EXP to that power. This is a long grind as the powers you can choose are chosen from 3 powers at random and you can only choose one among the three powers presented to you similar to when you're unlocking new powers.
