The Guardians of the Pit quest can be started by talking to Heddam in the Ragged Coastline. You can teleport to the Iron Wolves Encampment Waypoint to reach Heddam.

Diablo 4 - Guardians of the Pit Location
Talk to Heddam
Talk to Heddam in the Iron Wolves Encampment to start the quest.

Diablo 4 - Slay Skeletons
Slay skeletons to draw out the Champion
Head to the highlighted area on your map and defeat skeletons until the meter is full.

Diablo 4 - Slay the Champion
Slay the Champion of the Tar Pits
Once enough enemies are defeated, the Champion will appear in the center. Defeat it to progress the quest.

Diablo 4 - Return to Heddam
Return to Heddam
After defeating the Champion, return to Heddam to finish the quest.
