The Heretic is a side quest in Diablo 4 (Diablo IV). Read on to learn where to find Aneta, how to unlock The Heretic, a list of quest objectives, rewards, as well as a complete walkthrough.

Talk to Vass, who's speaking to a few villagers, in Zarbinzet in order to begin the quest.

| 1 |  Search for survivors at the Abandoned Ruins Head northeast from Zarbinzet to reach the Abandoned Ruins. |
| 2 |  Slay the Demons Upon entering the Abandoned Ruins, you'll have to defeat a horde of demons. |
| 3 |  Speak with the frightened girl The frightened girl will run out of the Abandoned Ruins to a tree across the entrance. Talk to her when she stops running. |
| 4 |  Help Aneta gather flowers You have to collect the Withered Plant, Dying Plant, and Singed Plant within the blue search region. The above map shows the locations of the flowers you have to gather. |
| 5 |  Escort Aneta back to Zarbinzet Bring Aneta back to her mother's home in Zarbinzet. You can use the fast travel waypoint and Aneta will still follow you. |
| 6 |  Speak with Aneta Tell Aneta "Don't forget your flowers," then watch the interaction between her and her mother. |

| 7 |  Find Aneta Aneta is located inside The Forgotten Cave in The Fallow Tillage. |
| 8 |  Save Aneta from the villagers Walk up to the mob of villagers surrounding Aneta then watch the mini-cutscene. |
| 9 |  Slay the Demons Defeat all the demons that spawn. |
| 10 |  Speak with Aneta Talk to Aneta and ask her if she's all right. Doing so will complete the quest and start the next quest A Price to Pay. |
On the official Blizzard forum, some players have reported a bug where the “Find Aneta” objective is unable to be cleared due to the dungeon itself not being accessible. However, no fix for the issue has been reported.
Players have reported in our comment section that abandoning the quest and starting it again fixes this issue! If this has worked for you or if you have an alternative fix, you're welcome to share it in the comment section and we will make sure to confirm the fix!
