Head to Braestaig

Talk to Merryn
Talk to Merryn in Braestaig to start the quest.
2 Diablo 4 - Defeat Darcel.png
Take the Runic Charm from Darcel
Travel northwest to find Darcel.
3 Diablo 4 - Take the Runic Charm.png
Defeat Darcel
Defeat Darcel and his summons. Once Darcel is defeated, the Runic Charm will drop from his corpse.
4 Diablo 4 - Return to Merryn.png
Return to Merryn
Bring the Runic Charm back to Merryn to finish the quest.

Stolen Artifice Disabled

On June 3, 2023, the Stolen Artifice side quest was disabled by the development team, due to the Multiple Darcels bug. The side quest was enabled again as of the June 4 Server-side Hotfix.

Stolen Artifice Bug

Multiple Darcel Spawns

Diablo IV - Subquest IconUpdate! This bug has been patched as of the June 4 Server-side Hotfix.

On the official Blizzard forum, players have reported a bug during the battle with Darcel that causes Darcel to spawn multiple times, reportedly ranging from 20~50 at a time.
