Completing the Malady of the Soul side quest is a prerequisite to unlocking the Depths of Despair side quest.
Malady of the Soul Quest Walkthrough
| Objective | |

| 1 |  Speak to Sister Octavia southeast of the Blacksmith to begin this side quest. She can be found conversing with Kvera regarding her husband's demonic possession. |
| 2 |  Enter the Ominous Cellar located inside Kvera's house. |
| 3 |  Slay the demons in the Ominous Cellar and then return to Kvera's House. |
| 4 |  Upon exiting, you will find Kvera injured by her husband. She will ask you to search the town for her husband. |
| 5 | Follow the trail of blood into the Kyovashad Sewers dungeon. |
| 6 |  Vasek is found in the deepest part of Kyovashad Sewers. Fight your way through the dungeon to reach him. |
| 7 |  Perform the exorcism ritual on Vasek once you reach him. |
| 8 | Slay Demotath, who emerges from Vasek during his exorcism. |
| 9 |  Exit the dungeon and speak to the injured Sister Octavia to complete this quest. |
