Each class has a unique resource with its own mechanics. Class resources govern the usage of skills and abilities. Each class also has their own tools of generating resources, which is slightly indicative of their play style.

Resource Cap can be Increased by Gear and Passives

The maximum amount of class resources can be increased by wearing certain equipment and by investing in Skill Passives such as Tempered Fury for Barbarians, and the Sorcerer's Devastation.

Fury - Barbarian

Resource Properties
Diablo 4 - Barbarian Fury
Fury
・Generated by using certain Skills including Basic Attacks such as Flay, Lunging Strike, Frenzy, and Bash.
・Also generated by taking damage.
Depletes over time.

Barbarians are powered by their rage and anger that manifests as Fury. It is built up by using certain Skills and taking damage, but slowly decreases when out of combat. Fury is used to unleash devastating melee attacks and other powerful abilities.

Spirit - Druid

Resource Properties

・Generated by using certain Skills including Basic Attacks such as Maul, Storm Strike, Wind Shear, Claw, and Earth Spike.
・Does not regenerate or deplete over time.

Druids call upon the forces of nature through Spirit. They use Spirit to cast destructive elemental spells and physical attacks in Werebear and Werewolf form.

Essence - Necromancer

・Generated by using certain Skills including Basic Attacks such as Hemorrhage, Reap, Decompose, and Bone Splinters.
・Slowly regenerates over time.

Necromancers are able to manipulate life and death through their mastery of Essence. It is used to cast potent spells with Crowd Control effects, and raise an army of the undead.

Energy - Rogue

・Quickly regenerates over time.
・Consumed for the unique class mechanics of Combo Points, Inner Sight, and Preparation.
・Several Skills generate Energy.

Rogues are able to dish out massive AoE and single-target damage but are limited by their Energy. Unlike other classes, the Rogue does not rely on Basic Attacks to generate Energy. The Rogue has plenty of tools like Concealment, Adrenaline Rush, Momentum, and more.

Mana - Sorcerer

・Regenerates in combat when using Skills and over time.
Needs to be managed when in battle.

Sorcerers utilize Mana which represents their control over elemental magic. Mana is used to cast incredibly powerful offensive spells, as well as defensive spells like Ice Armor and Teleport to protect themselves.
