Cyberpunk 2077 Removed From PlayStation Store

Reasons

Cyberpunk 2077 has been plagued with bugs since its launch, in particular on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As a result, Sony has decided to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store. CD Projekt Red has also made an official statement declaring that the decision was made based on a mutual discussion.

Sony Official Statement

“SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store. SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.

Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.”

CD Projekt Red Official Statement

Following the announcement from Sony, CD Projekt Red has made their own announcement regarding the removal of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store.

The statement implies that the decision to pull the game was mutual between the two companies. It also states that physical copies of the game will still be available, and previously-purchased digital copies of the game will still be available and receive support and patches as they are released.

When Will Cyberpunk 2077 Be Available Again?

Based on Sony and CD Projekt Red's official post, it's not clear when Cyberpunk 2077 will be readded to the PlayStation Store, but CD Projekt Red's statement declares the intention to bring it back “as soon as possible.”

With Patch 1.05 due to arrive by December 21st, and further patches announced for January and February, it's likely that the game will be back in the store within the next two months, after the major bugs have been resolved.
