The changes made to the list reflect Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel's aim of preventing Decks from being overly difficult to counter, and ensuring the game's tactical elements are not compromised by overly short and one-sided Duels.
List of Forbidden & Limited Cards
The following cards will have their restrictions changed following the scheduled update on January 9, 2025:
No new Forbidden Cards in this update. |

If a card has been designated as Forbidden in a banlist update, the card will no longer appear in any Card Pack after the Maintenance scheduled on the same day on December 6, 2024.
They can still be generated after the new status, however, and can only be used under Unlimited rules in a Duel Room.

Dismantling old cards that were moved to Semi-Limited, Limited, or Forbidden will grant users a 20-point Craft Point bonus, regardless of card finish. The number of times the bonus can be gained corresponds to the reduction in the maximum copies of the card per Deck due to the Limited/Forbidden list.
For example, if an Unlimited card is moved into being Limited, that is two cards reduced. Meaning, players can get the bonus to up to two times only when dismantling cards.
