As posted in Konami's official website, this year's World Champshionship will be held on September 7-8, 2023, and it will take place in Seattle, Washington, USA.

2024 World Championship Details

The World Championship is the highest caliber of competition in Yu-Gi-Oh!, inviting the best Duelists from around the world into one single event to determine the new King of Games!

Master Duel in World Championship

The physical card game and Duel Links are separate divisions in the event, each having their own tournament.

2024 will mark the second time Master Duel will be one of the games participating in the World Championship, following last year's debut!

NOTE: Duelists can participate in Qualifiers for all three categories, but players can only choose one to compete in if they qualify for multiple categories.

World Championship Qualification

Unique to Master Duel, the WCS Finals will be played through a Team Battle format, with Duelists competing in teams of three Region Representatives--one selected from the winners of the WCS Qualifiers or Duelist Cups, and two hand-picked players chosen by the top player of the Qualifiers.

A special Events page for the 2024 World Championship is now available at the Main Menu! Players can keep track of the WCS Finals here, as well as cheer them on with the Cheer for your Champion! Campaign!

Here, players can keep track of the win-loss progress between the eight teams, with their win-loss record set in a table for their 1st Stage, and the brackets for the winning teams in the Final Tournament.

WCS 2024 Match Replays Available In-Game

All Matches Available

Much like last year, the replays of every single Duel that happens at the World Championship will be watchable at Duel Live! A special section dedicated to all the Worlds matches can be found at the left side of the menu.

Deck Recipes Might Be Viewable

While viewing the World Championship Duels in Duel Live, the options to view the players' respective Decks are currently grayed out and unselectable. There is a distinct possibility that they might be viewable after the World Championship Finals!

WCS 2024 Finals Format

There are two stages for the WCS Finals: Stage 1, and the Final Tournament.

Stage 1

Stage 1 splits up the 12 Teams into 2 groups of 6, and both groups will play in a Round Robin format.

Group A will be composed of Thank Love, BOTB, BRAZ IL, CER, CER 2 x FCG and last year's World Champions snipehunters.

For Group B, the group will have MYYGO, Maxx "Yee", Rogue Rulers, Team 7, Hero's Future and Double Noir.

Final Tournament

Only the top two teams from each Round Robin Group will advance to the Final Tournament, which is a single-eliminiation bracket of 4.

The games will be played in another Round Robin of 3v3, and the first team to 5 wins will advance. There is a maximum of 9 Duels possible if the Duels are closely contested.

The Final Tournament will be on September 10, 2024, JST Time (GMT+9). The winner of the Final Tournament will be crowned Master Duel World Champions!
