Can Be Found During the House-Exclusive Quests

The Map With Floating Candles quest item can be found during the House-exclusive main quests, about two to three hours into the game. These quests are unlocked after completing Trials of Merlin and Potions Class. The map is not part of the main quest objectives, but you can backtrack to its location if you missed it on your first visit.

Since the House-exclusive main quests take place in different locations, the Map With Floating Candles are also placed on different spots. Obtaining the map automatically tiggers the Ghost of Our Love side quest.

Find the Treasure in the Forbidden Forest

Hogwarts Legacy - Map With Floating Candles

The Map With Floating Candles shows a bridge near the Forbidden Forest, as well as the Lumos icon with an arrow pointing at two floating candles. Solving the puzzle shown on the map completes the Ghost of Our Love side quest.

Hogwarts Legacy - Forbidden Forest location

The Forbidden Forest is located north of Hogwarts Castle. The Floo Flame outside the forest was automatically unlocked during your trip to Hogsmeade in Welcome to Hogsmeade main quest.

Follow the floating candles at night

Hogwarts Legacy - Floating Candles location

If you visited the Forbidden Forest during the day, pull up your map and skip time as the quest can only be done at night. Fast travel to the Forbidden Forest's Floo Flame and walk to the southwest bridge (not the bridge leading to the forest).

Check around the bridge for a Love Letter item then cast Lumos near it. Three floating candles should appear above you, which you can follow into the Forbidden Forest.

Hogwarts Legacy Ghost of Our Love Treasure

The floating candles will lead you to a picnic set and a chest. Opening this chest will complete the Ghost of Our Love side quest.
