Some Character Creation Options

There are certain options in the character creation that you cannot change once you start the game. These include the gender, face shape, skin color, and voice.

Unlike the above mentioned customization options, you can change your hairstyle and hair color at Madam Snelling's Tress Emporium in Hogsmeade.

Your Hogwarts House

Hogwarts Legacy allows players to choose their Hogwarts House at the beginning of the game. You will be able to choose from the four Houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.

Choose carefully as you cannot change your House after the Sorting Ceremony.

House Exclusive Quests

Similar to not being able to enter the Common Room of other Houses, there is a certain quest affected by the House you've chosen! For example, some players won't get to see the famous Wizard prison, Azkaban if they did not choose House Hufflepuff.

All other side quests can be done, even after the main story is over!

Map Chamber Achievement

The Map Chamber achievement unlocks when you discover the Map Chamber underneath Hogwarts Castle, but it also depends on the House you choose.

For example, if you chose Gryffindor, you will obtain The Gryffindor in the Graveyard achievement, but this also locks you out of the three other achievements.

In order to complete the achievement, you need to have four separate save files with characters from each of the four houses and have them discover the Map Chamber.

Your Wand

You have the option to choose your wand at the Wand Ceremony. Once you have locked in, you will no longer be able to change your wand for that character at any point after. Make sure to choose wisely to avoid losing progress when restarting.

Talent Points Cannot Be Refunded

There is no option to undo or refund Talent Points once you have spent them in any of the Talent skill trees. Make sure to choose carefully which Talent you want to obtain before spending the points.

Unforgivable Curses

Players can opt not to learn Unforgivable Curses, but if you change your mind you only have one more chance to learn it! This is dependent on what you decide to do with Sebastian at the end of his story.

What to Do Before One-Time Events

Save to Allow Restart

Saving before a crucial event such as the Sorting Hat Ceremony and choosing your wand at Ollivanders allows you to restart and choose a different choice before getting locked-in.

Make a manual save in a different save slot

Hogwarts Legacy supports 5 auto save slots and 10 manual save slots. This makes it possible to make a backup save in an empty slot before a one-time event.

There are many dialogue options that have no effect on the game, but there are a few which do, including one during The Final Repository main story quest which affects the ending of the game.

No Missable Quests

There are no missable quests in Hogwarts Legacy. You can complete the main story and still able to complete any of the side quests that you have not started.
