Hogwarts Legacy - How to Get Past Moving Floors

Cast Arresto Momentum or hover objects on moving floor traps to get past them inside dungeons in Hogwarts Legacy. Read on for more information about these moving floors, where to find them, and more!

How to Get Past Moving Floors

Cast Arresto Momentum on Floor Tile

To get past moving floors, all you need to do is cast Arresto Momentum towards the floor. This will deactivate the trap and allow you to walk on the floor and move on.

Use an Object to Trigger Floor Trap

Alternatively, you can also use nearby objects that you can grab with Accio or Wingardium Leviosa to trigger the trap.

Simply place the object on top of the moving floor to activate it. This will force the moving floor to trigger and bring the object to the trap room, allowing you to walk over the area for a few seconds before it restarts.

These floors blend in with the rest of the dungeon. Use Revelio to highlight them on the overworld. This will also distinguish the floor tile to cast Arresto Momentum on.

What are Moving Floor Traps?

Floors That Move You to Another Room

While exploring dungeons in the game, you might encounter floor tiles that trap your character and push you to another room. One dungeon that contains this trap is Henrietta's Hideout in Manor Cape.

Escaping Trap Rooms

Moving floor traps are intended to make you feel lost after being sent to a separate room, but you can escape from here if you look around for an exit in the form of fake walls.

These walls will open and make a path leading back to the main area. Do make sure to cast Arresto Momentum on the moving floor to avoid being trapped again!

Appears in Dungeons During Quests

You will encounter moving floor traps during the Rescuing Rococo, Solved by the Bell, and The Hippogriff Marks the Spot side quests.
