Hogwarts Legacy - Use the Loom in the Room of Requirement

You can upgrade your Gear once you have access to the Loom in the Room of Requirement. The loom unlocks after completing The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom main story quest.

Upgrade Gear Using Beast Materials

Hogwarts Legacy - Upgrade Gear Using Beast Materials

Upgrading your Gear requires a corresponding number of beast materials. You can obtain the materials by brushing and feeding the beasts that you have captured.

Note that some pieces of gear cannot get all three upgrade slots, so be sure to check the equipment carefully before using up the beast materials.

Steps to Upgrade Gear

	Steps to Upgrade Gear Using Beast Materials
1	Interact with the Loom at the Room of Requirement.
2	Hover over to the piece of gear you want to upgrade and select View Upgrade.
3	Selecting View Upgrade brings you to a new window that shows the required number of beast materials. Press and hold the Upgrade Gear button to upgrade the piece of gear.

Add a Trait Using Beast Materials

Similar to upgrading your Gear, you can also use the beast materials that you have gather to add Traits to your equipment.

Note that you cannot add a high level Trait to certain low-level pieces of gear. Be sure to check the gear's level and see if it's compatible with the traits you have discovered.

	Steps to Add a Trait Using Beast Materials
1	Interact with the Loom at the Room of Requirement.
2	Hover over to the piece of gear you want to upgrade and select View Traits.
3	Selecting View Traits brings you to a new window that shows the list of traits you have discovered and their required number of beast materails. Press and hold the Weave Trait to add the Trait to your gear. Note: If your gear has an existing Trait applied, it will be replaced with the selected Trait.

Hogwarts Legacy - Traits

Gear Stats refer to the Offense or Defense stat a piece of gear has. Any piece of gear that has green numbers in its stats will improve your character's stats while gear with red numbers will decrease your stats.

Gear Traits are bonus effects you can add to your gear. There are 3 levels of traits with each level having a stronger effect than the previous one.
