The Phoenix is a large and iconic creature, a fiery magical bird that dies and is reborn from the ashes. These creatures are consdiered rare and their loyalty even more so. In Hogwarts Legacy, there is only one Phoenix.

In order to unlock the Phoenix Rising side quest, you need to complete 2 quests: the preceding Deek quest Foal of the Dead and the main quest Niamh Fitzgerald's Trial.

Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Speak with Deek. Deek is inside the Room of Requirement. |
2 | Search for the cave. The cave is located in the southeast, at the Phoenix Mountain Cave in Poidsear Coast. Fast travel or use your broom to get to the location, then enter the cave. |
3 | Search for the phoenix. Head straight southeast through the path until you reach a wall you can climb. Climb it and head to the cavern with the poachers. |
3a | Defeat the poachers then keep heading east until you reach a room with metal construction. Defeat the poachers there too, then head through the tunnel with the vault door. The phoenix will be on the other side. |
4 | Reach the peak of the mountain. Head west up the ladder and into the series of tunnels. Follow the path straight east until you reach a cavern with a ladder. Head up the ladder then follow that path that ascends up the mountain. Defeat the spiders and poachers you encounter along the way. |
4a | In the cavern with the poachers, use Bombarda on the rocks to the east to reveal a path. Follow that path to the peak of the mountain, where the phoenix is resting on a rock. |
5 | Rescue the phoenix with the nab-sack. Use the nab-sack to rescue the Phoenix. It shouldn't give you any problem. ▶︎ How to Get and Care for Phoenix |
6 | Return to the Room of Requirement. Head down north to the exit to Poidsear Coast, then fast travel to the Room of Requirement. This will trigger a cutscene that'll complete the quest. |
There are a few treasure chests to be found in the Phoenix Mountain Cave, a couple of which are locked behind Level 2 Locks. To open these locks, you need Alohomora 2, which you can get by collecting 9 Demiguise Statues.
