The Path to Hogwarts is the first main quest in Hogwarts Legacy. It unlocks after creating your character in the character creation menu upon starting the game.
Basic Cast is your main spell to use against enemies. They deal damage and can easily be chained together with spells or as is.
Basic Cast Effects and How to Get
Revelio allows you to reveal surrounding interactable objects and legends near you. Use it to explore and learn more about the world of hogwarts as well as identifying key locations and enemy placements ingame!

Protego is your main source of defense and the spell that allows you to protect yourself against enemy attacks.
Protego Effects and How to Get
Stupefy is a spell that allows you to stun enemies that you cast the spell with. It can only be cast after blocking an enemy attack with Protego.
Stupefy Effects and How to Get
Lumos allows you to summon a light on the tip of your wand. Use it to illuminate the area and solve certain puzzles in the game!

| 1 | Follow the button prompts that appear onscreen. After the cutscene, take note of the button prompts that appear on the screen to familiarize yourself with the controls. Follow Professor Fig as you exit the cave. |
| 2 | Follow Professor Fig. Follow Professor Fig as you climb the mountain. |
| 3 | Destroy the magical barrier. Once you reach the ice wall, tap R2 to perform a Basic Cast. Tap the button repeatedly to destroy the ice wall. |
| 4 | Follow Professor Fig. Follow Professor Fig until you reach the dead end. Wait for him to point to the right direction and climb the tall wall. Watch the professor cast Reparo to create a bridge leading to the next area. |
| 5 | Explore the ruins. Head to the path west of the ruins near the statue to reach the next objective. Get close to the enchanted, crystallised stone and wait for Professor Fig. Interact with the stone to complete the objective. |
| 6 | Wake the goblin. Interact with the podium and watch the cutscene. |
| 7 | Follow Professor Fig. Check the right side of the vault's entrance to find a treasure chest. Enter the vault and complete the spell learning minigame to learn Revelio. Use the left-stick to trace the symbol and press the corresponding button prompts to complete the minigame. Cast Revelio to reveal the door. |

| 9 | Stay Close to Professor Fig. Follow Professor Fig until you find the same glow on the ground. Interact with it to complete the objective. |
| 10 | Determine How to Proceed. Cast Revelio near the reflect to reveal a statue. Complete the spell learning minigame to learn Lumos. Hold R2/RT button and tap the Triangle/Y button to cast Lumos to illuminate the area. |
| 11 | Discover the Statue's Secret. Face the statue head on to discover the statue's secret. Press the Triangle/Y button to cast Protego to deflect the statue's attack. |
| 13 | Protego Incoming Enemy Attacks. Use Protego at least 3 times to complete the objective. Wait for them to attack and press the Triangle/Y button to cast Protego. |
| 14 | Tap R2/RT to Destroy Statues with Basic Cast. Use Basic Cast to finish off the remaining statues. |
| 15 | Stay Close to Professor Fig. Stay close to Professor Fig to complete this objective. |
| 16 | Find Professor Fig. Cast Lumos and follow the wisp to find a glowing pool on the floor. Interact with it to complete the objective. |
| 17 | Activate the Statues. Cast Revelio and follow the three strings of light on the follow to have the three statues face you. |
| 18 | Tap R2/RT to Destroy Statues with Basic Cast. Defeat the statues. Use Basic Cast to deplete their health and use Protego to deflect their attacks. You can also press and hold the Triangle/Y button to use Protego and counterattack with Stupefy. |
| 19 | Find Professor Fig. Cast Lumos and follow the wisps of light to find another glowing pool on the ground. Interact with it to create a portal. Go inside the portal and check the sides of the room to find a chest. Interact with the Pensieve in the middle of the room to complete the objective. |
Once you reach the ruins after Professor Fig casts Reparo, head to the west side to find a statue. Head north from the statue to reach the next area leading towards the "Explore the ruins" objective marker.
