Hogwarts Legacy - How to Stop Accio

Press the right trigger when playing on a controller or press the spell button again when playing on a keyboard to stop casting Accio in Hogwarts Legacy. Read on for more information about how to stop Accio in Summoner's Court matches and how to let go of objects while using Accio.

How to Stop Accio During Summoner's Court Matches

On Controllers, Release the Right Trigger Button

When playing Summoner's Court matches with a controller, let go of the right trigger to stop pulling the ball towards you after using Accio.

The right trigger button is R2 for Playstation controllers and RT for Xbox controllers.

On Keyboards, Press the Spell Button Again

For those playing with a keyboard, you need to press the spell button for Accio again to stop the spell.

Let Go As It Rolls Towards the Target Spot

The ball will continue rolling after stopping Accio, so make sure to let go of the button from a distance of where you are aiming for the ball to stop, not exactly where you want the ball to stop as it does not instantly stop after breaking Accio.

You will know if you have stopped casting Accio if the streak of light from the tip of your wand is not pulling the ball anymore.

How to Stop Accio While Grabbing Objects

On Controllers, Release the Right Trigger

On controllers, if you cast Accio or Wingardium Leviosa on an object, you need to hold the right trigger if you want to move it around. If you need to let go of the object, simply release your finger on the right trigger button.

On Keyboards, Press the Spell Button Again

If you are playing with a keyboard and mouse, you need to press the button where you assigned Accio or Wingardium Leviosa again to let go of an object.

You can freely move around without holding anything if you are grabbing an object with a spell, so if you want to release the object you are moving, press the corresponding spell button again.
