How to Unlock The Centaur and the Stone and Location

The Centaur and the Stone is unlocked as part of Poppy Sweeting's Relationship questline. In order to unlock it you'll first need to have completed all of the previous quests as listed above.
Additionally, although not part of the Poppy questline, you'll also need to complete the main quest In the Shadow of the Mountain first.

The Centaur and the Stone Walkthrough
| Objectives | |
|---|---|
| 1 | Meet Poppy near Irondale at the cave. Fast travel to the Irondale Floo Flame then use your broom to fly to the marker south of there. You can only begin this quest in the day, so if it's not daytime, Wait in the glowing circle to skip time. |
| 2 |  Enter the Moonstone Garden. |
| 3 |  Find the moonstone. In the first room, head down the south path. After defeating the dugbogs in the second room, head through the door east and follow that path until you reach a room with a moth door puzzle. |
| 3a |  Use Accio on both handles on the south wall to reveal a moth stand. Use Lumos to get the moth from the moth stand. Bring it to either mechanism on the side of the door. |
| 3b |  Use Accio on the southeast and northeast handles next to reveal another moth stand. Use Lumos again to get the moth from the moth stand. Bring it to the other mechanism on the side of the door. Use Depulso to spin the moth mechanisms until the door opens. |
| 3c |  Behind the door are two more of the mechanisms; one to your left and the other past the waterfall. Use Lumos to get the 2 previous moths and bring them to the 2 new mechanisms. Again, use Depulso to make them spin. This will make a 3rd moth stand rise up from the water. Use Lumos to bring all 3 moths to the moth door in the west. |
| 3d |  In the next room, defeat the dugbogs then jump into the water behind them. Look for the spot where the water is bubbling then dive in. You'll be transported to a different location. |
| 3e |  Head east and destroy the thorns blocking the path. Head up the spiral path, destroy another thorny block, then climb up the ledge. Collect the Scholars' Moonstone from the tree up top. |
| 4 | Talk to Poppy. You'll be given the choice to leave now or leave later. Select leave later if you want to explore the area a bit more, then talk to Poppy again. |
| 5 |  Place the moonstone inside the henge. When you leave, you'll be teleported to another location. Head down from the starting point, then climb up the adjacent hill to the east. After climbing up 2 ledges, head to the middle henge and place the Scholars' Moonstone. |
| 6 | Collect the moonstone. After the cutscene, retrieve the moonstone from the henge. |
| 7 | Talk to Poppy. Talk to Poppy to end the quest. You'll be transported back to Hogwarts afterward. |

Explore the Other Rooms of the Garden
Moonstone Garden isn't a large dungeon and the only enemies, the dugbogs, are relatively easy to defeat, so you can explore the other paths of the garden to search for gold and random gear if you'd like.
