This chess puzzle is located southwest of the Marunweem Lake Floo Flame.

Grab Glacius Spell Cube to Open Treasure Vault

At a nearby tent, open the chest with Alohomora III and get the Glacius Spell Cube inside. Bring the cube to the platform in front of the Treasure Vault and cast Glacius at it. This will open the Treasure Vault.

How to Unlock All Treasure Vault Puzzles

Chess Puzzle Solution

Objectives
1
Cast Transformation on the chair and turn it into a black knight piece.
2
Place the black knight piece one space behind the white pawn.
The white pawn is positioned on the right side of the room. Placing the black knight piece on the space will attack the king from the L-shaped space between them.
2a If the transformed piece is a black bishop, place it two spaces behind the white pawn.
3
Place the knight on the space to cause a checkmate, completing the puzzle.
