Use Flipendo When It Strikes the Ground

Fastidio's Monster shares the same attacks and weaknesses as the regular troll enemies, so you can use Flipendo when it strikes the ground to send its club into the monster's face.

This deals massive damage and also stuns the monster, allowing you to follow up with other spells such as Confringo and Diffindo.

Use Ancient Magic Throw to Throw Back Its Own Boulder

The monster may sometimes throw boulders at you as its ranged attack. You can block it with Protego and then use Ancient Magic Throw before the boulder lands on the ground.

Save Ancient Magic for the Third Phase

While spells like Diffindo and Confringo (and even basic casts) already do pretty good damage to the monster, Ancient Magic is capable of depleting almost an entire phase of the monster's HP in one blast.

You should save this until the third phase, where the camera flips and movement controls become inverted, to lessen the amount of time you'll have to fight the monster upside down. Don't waste Ancient Magic's potential by using it in the first phase, which is relatively easy to get through.

Take Advantage of its Limited Range

The monster mostly uses melee attacks, so keep your distance from it and deal damage from afar. You can keep it at a distance with Arresto Momentum or Glacius, which come especially in handy when it tries to throw a rock at you or tries to run at you.
