Hogwarts Legacy - How to Open Disillusionment Chest
Eye Chests, also known as Disillusionment Chests, are a type of chest in Hogwarts Legacy that requires you to turn invisible to loot the 500 gold inside. Learn how to use the Disillusionment Spell, how to find Eye Chests, chest rewards, and more!

Use the Disillusionment Spell to Turn Invisible

Opening the Eye Chests requires you to use the Disillusionment spell to turn yourself invisible. This allows you to open the chest without being spotted to loot the gold inside.

Open the Spell Wheel and equip the Disillusioment spell.

Cast the Disillusionment spell to make yourself invisible.

Note: Make sure to cast the spell away from the Eye Chest's line of sight, as it will still detect you if you cast the spell in front of it.

Approach the Eye Chest and press the Search button to loot the gold inside.

Disillusionment Effects and How to Get

Using Invisibility Potion works but it is not recommended

You can also use the Invisibility Potion to turn yourself invisible to open the Eye Chest. However, this method is not recommended as you will only have a few seconds to open the chest before it spots you.

In addition, you will also use up one potion whereas using the Disillusionment Spell does not cost anything to use.

Use Revelio and Find the Gold Highlighted Chest

The best way to find Eye Chests is to use Revelio. The spell highlights all nearby Eye Chests and other collectibles.

Check For the Camera Shaking Effect

When you approach an Eye Chest, it will jump in place causing a noticable camera shake. You can use this as a clue to find the chest in the surrounding area.

Note that this method only works if you have Camera Shake enabled in the Settings menu.

Eye Chest Rewards

500 Gold

You obtain 500 Gold each time you open an Eye Chest. The high number of gold makes it possible for early game players to obtain gold fast once they unlock the Disillusionment Spell after completing the Secrets of the Restricted Section main story quest.
