Equipping this gear set makes for a very balanced character, boosting both types of stats and giving you adequate offensive capabilities while maintaining durability in fights.
With the exception of the Purple Dragon Eyed Spectacles and Celtic Attire which are found in chests, all items listed in the table above are available for purchase at Gladrags Wizardwear. For the most part, gear from chests are random so you'll have to explore the world for better chances of getting gear.
For players just starting out in the game, it is recommended to check your gear stats then equip gear that gives you the better stats. As you explore the world, gear can quickly become obsolete so make sure to always check your current gear and swap out anything that has fallen off.
Since gear only affects Offense or Defense stats, you can compare them in the gear menu to see if you've acquired better gear.
Should players find themselves out of gear slots or just needing more gold, they can head to Gladrags Wizardwear in Hogsmeade and sell any unwanted gear.

All Gear Types: What Do Gear Colors Mean?
Legendary gear, in addition to being bought from the stores, can also be found in various chests! Collect them from these chests to get gear quickly.
If you don't like what you got, you can alway reload a save to try again!
Can You Get All Legendary Gear?
As you get to the later stages of the game, you can upgrade your existing gear with Traits to give them additional effects as well as increased stats.
Players can use the Loom in the Room of Requirement to upgrade gear, provided they have the required upgrade materials.
Not only can you upgrade your gear, you can also stack Traits to increase the benefits from each piece. Use this to your advantage to plan out how you'll tackle quests or boost your style of play!
