How to Use Potions

Press L1 to Drink Potions

With the exception of Wiggenweld Potions, players can drink a potion by pressing L1 on the controller or tab on the keyboard. This immediately lets your character consume the potion and activates its corresponding effects.

Press and Hold L1 to Switch Potions

Should a player have multiple potions on hand, they can switch between available potions by holding down the same button and cycling through the tool wheel to select which potion they wish to equip.

How to Unlock Potions

Complete Potions Class Main Quest

In order to use potions, players will have to take on the Potions Class main quest. As the name suggests, this quest will be the first time you experience making potions and essentially acts as a tutorial on how to brew potions. Potions will not be available to use until this main quest has been completed.

Potions Class Quest Walkthrough

Available to Brew in Potions Classroom or Room of Requirement

After completing Potions Class, players can brew potions right in the Potions Classroom or in the Room of Requirement, once unlocked. Players can purchase ingredients from various shops around the highlands while potion recipes and ready-to-consume potions are available at J. Pippin's Potions in Hogsmeade.
