You Can't Get Pets in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy - Pet Cat

You cannot get domesticated pets in Hogwarts Legacy. Even though owls and cats were seen in the trailers and around the overworld, you cannot keep them as pets that you can name or care for.

You may find an owl in your common room and in your Field Guide, but it is only for viewing letters that you receive from other characters. You can also pet the cats that you see roaming around Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy - Beasts Class

Although keeping domesticated animals as pets is not possible, you can rescue and tame magical beasts instead and care for them like you would a domesticated pet in Hogwarts Legacy.

In addition to beasts, you can also keep mounts in your Vivarium! So it'll be like having your own collection of pets.
