Gryffindor | Slytherin | Hufflepuff | Ravenclaw |
With its many appearances in the Harry Potter films, the Gryffindor common room is arguably the most iconic of the four common rooms. Fans of the films will be greeted by the familiar red and gold color scheme as well as the many moving portraits on the walls.
Players can access the Gryffindor common room by going through the painting of the Fat Lady.
The Slytherin common room gives a distinct cooler feeling thanks to the windows that lets players see underwater. The high ceilings and heavy use of marble make for an area fit for royalty.
Players can enter the Slytherin common room through a hidden door behind a wall in Hogwarts' dungeons.
With plenty of plants and heavy use of brick and wood, the Hufflepuff common room stays close to its earthy theme. Players will feel very cozy each time they enter and go around this common room as the low ceilings and foliage give a sense of being close to nature.
Players can enter the Hufflepuff common room by going through a barrel in the kitchen area.
Reflecting the intelligence and wisdom the students of the House display, the Ravenclaw common room is adorned with blue and bronze colors as well as many astral decorations. Its location at one of Hogwarts' towers combined with the numerous windows in the common room lets students peer out and observe the stars.
Players can enter the Ravenclaw common room through a door with a bronze Raven.
Besides the design and decorations for each common room, there are no confirmed gameplay differences between each common room. Each common room will have the same necessary items such as Floo Flames, so the choice is simply up to player preference.
In the lore of the Wizarding World, common rooms in Hogwarts always had systems in place that prevented students from other Houses to enter.
Assuming that the common rooms in this game aren't any different, players will have to replay the game and choose a different House to enter the common room of a different House.
My family plays the game, so I have seen all of them in detail, and I love them all. However, in my opinion, the Slythern one is too dark, and Gryffindor is too cramped. I can't really decide between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff! One is SO pretty and has gorgeous windows, but the other is my house, and has a wonderful cozy sort of atmosphere.
