Complete the In the Shadow of the Relic Quest

To unlock Avada Kedavra, you'll need to do the In the Shadow of the Relic Relationship Quest, which is part of the Sebastian Questline. You can learn Avada Kedavra at the end of the quest. However, the quest will also present you with an option to not learn Avada Kedavra. Make sure not to select that dialogue option.

Learn Avada Kedavra During or After the Quest

You can learn Avada Kedavra at the end of In the Shadow of the Relic, when Sebastian gives you the choice to learn the curse. If you choose not to learn it during the quest, you can still learn it from Sebastian by talking to him at the Undercroft at any time after completing the quest.

However, this will no longer be available if you choose to turn Sebastian in during In the Shadow of Fate, the next quest after In the Shadow of the Relic.
