Collect Ancient Magic Traces
Completing these challenges requires you to collect all Ancient Magic Traces that look like orbs near the Hotspot.
Investigating an Ancient Magic Hotspot will reveal a trail to these orbs for you to collect. You can also cast Revelio to reveal them.
Most Ancient Magic Traces require you to interact with the environment to reach places where they might be collected.

What Do Ancient Magic Hotspots Do?
Increase Ancient Magic Meter Capacity
Successful Ancient Magic Hotspot challenges completes an Exploration Challenge in your Field Guide, which increases the capacity of your Ancient Magic Meter. Having a high capacity of Ancient Magic in your arsenal will allow you to deal plenty of massive amounts of damage.
You can find the challenge and its rewards under Challenges > Exploration in your Field Guide.
