Cast the Disillusionment Charm

The best way to avoid getting caught sneaking into an area or to simply avoid enemies is to cast the Disillusionment Charm. As this charm turns you invisible, its an easy method of moving around undetected.

Unlock the Disillusionment Charm During Secrets of the Restricted Section Main Quest

If the Disillusionment Charm is unavailable to equip in your spell set, you will have to complete the Secrets of the Restricted Section Main Quest as you learn the charm in this part of the game.

Drink an Invisibility Potion

In addition to casting the Disillusionment Charm, players can also drink an Invisibility Potion to become invisible and hidden from enemies. Players can brew this potion or simply purchase it from J. Pippin's Potions for 800 Coins.

Use Distractions to Lure Away Enemies

There might be cases where there are lookouts stationed specifically for guarding and keeping watch over an area. You can use the L2 and R2 buttons on certain items in the area to lure them away and slip past them as they investigate.

Take Note of Enemy Indicators

Hogwarts Legacy - Take Note of Enemy Indicators

When sneaking around enemies, take note of the icon on the top of their head as these indicate their suspicion level. Take your time and make sure to move around only when they aren't suspicious.

Purchase Stealth Talents

Talent Req. Level Effect
Sense of Secrecy I 5 Enemies' ability to detect you is reduced.
Human Demiguise 5 Req. Spell: Disillusionment
Allows you to Sprint while using Disillusionment
Sense of Secrecy II 16 Enemies' ability to detect you is reduced.

Players can purchase upgrades on the Spell Talent tree as these greatly help with stealth gameplay. Talents will be unlocked after the Jackdaw's Rest main quest so if this option isn't available yet, you will have to progress the main story.
