Many of the Hogwarts Legacy trailers hinted that your character could become an evil wizard. Read on to learn whether or not you can be evil and which choices lead you down the darker path.

You Can Be Evil in Hogwarts Legacy
Many of the trailers and gameplay showcase hints that your character can become evil throughout the story.
The State of Play trailer mentions that you "may lead a darker path" and shows the character using Avada Kedavra, one of the tools of the Dark Arts.
Another trailer also shows an optional quest line involving a Slytherin student, Sebastian Sallow, where you have the choice to embrace or reject the Dark Arts.
In addition, the developers revealed in the Gameplay Showcase that the game has different choice points that can affect the characters around you, which may result in altering the game's ending.
Can You Torture or Kill in Hogwarts Legacy?
No morality system included in Hogwarts Legacy
Although you can be good or evil in Hogwarts Legacy, there is no morality system in place. Instead, players will encounter quests that influence what kind of wizard or witch they choose to become. This means that using spells such as the Unforgivable Curses may not have any lasting effects on your character.
But You Can't Kill Classmates and NPCs
You cannot, in any way, kill classmates and NPCs. Many have tried attempting this and have failed to do so.
