Do you want your character to start off in the streets like a Street Kid? An outsider like a Nomad? Or from high up like a Corpo?
You can choose any Lifepath that you want without worrying too much as this won't have much effect on your starting gear and stats or how the story will play out.
The only major differences between the three are the first mission that you'll get and exclusive dialogue options in some conversations that can possibly change the outcome of some side missions.

All Lifepaths and Best Lifepath to Choose
We recommend planning your endgame build before creating your character, as you will be allocating some Attribute Points before you're sent to Night City. You'll have to choose a playstyle, build your character around it through Attributes, Perks, and gear, then stick with it until endgame.
Heads up! On September 21st, both Cyberware and Perks will be overhauled along with the other changes in Update 2.0.
A limiter will be implemented for Cyberware installments (to prevent cyberpsychosis maybe?) and all new Perks will replace majority of the current ones, so we will update our best character build guides accordingly once the update lands. Please stay tuned!

2.0 Update Release Date and Changes
While you can respec your Perk Points anytime you're out of combat, you won't be able to respec your Attributes with just the base game alone. Additionally, you won't get enough Attribute Points to max out all Attributes even after reaching the max level, forcing you to stick to a playstyle on each character.
However, with the Phantom Liberty DLC, developers confirmed that you will be able to reallocate all the Attribute Points you've spent, but only once! This gives players the opportunity to switch to a completely different playstyle without having to create a fresh save.
Don't just spam buttons to skip dialogues and choose only the first line on replies! Some dialogue choices can heavily alter the outcome of a mission, its rewards, and even future missions!
Try to create extra saves if you want to check all outcomes or if you just want to find the right one.
Completing missions, including gigs and NCPD Scanner Hustles, increases your Street Cred. Reaching certain levels of Street Cred unlocks more powerful items on vendors.
Legendary Cyberware and other high-tier Cyberware are also only purchasable at higher Street Cred levels, so if you want the best installments, start building your rep.
Additionally, Fixers will only give you more of the gigs they have if you have enough Street Cred.
Yes, even the junk items you see everywhere!
Unusued weapons, clothing, and consumables can also be sold for eddies or dismantled for crafting components to avoid being encumbered.
However, if you obtained items that you think are too important to discard, like Iconic Weapons, you can use your Stash instead to free up inventory space. You can access your stash at any of your apartments or vehicles!
Money is stored in many locations around Night City, one of them is machines with access points. Hacking into Access Points can earn you instant eurodollars, crafting components, and at times, quickhacks!
You can datamine more rewards from Access Points the longer the string you input, but it comes with a higher risk of failing if run out of time or correct characters.
If you picked Intelligence as one of your main attributes, you can unlock Perks that significantly increases the rewards you get from datamining and even Perks that make the process much easier!
