The Metro System is the much-awaited train system introduced in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1! Players can access the new feature after the events at Konpeki Plaza once they get their NCART City Pass.
Update 2.1 Patch Notes and Release Date
While on the Metro, you're unable to move around. However, you can check out what others are doing on the train or look around to see Night City from a different view. Some random events can occur, such as a beggar approaching you or seeing Johnny Silverhand sitting in front of you.
Once you're ready to leave, you can choose to immediately exit at the nearest stop.
You have the option to enjoy the ride and immerse yourself by selecting Ride Metro, but you can opt out of taking the train altogether. You can use these stations just like regular fast travel points by choosing the Fast Travel option.
The Metro System comes with a map of five lines and nineteen train stations in total. Like real metro systems, different lines will lead to different locations and have shared train stations.

For narrative reasons, you will only be able to unlock the Metro System after the events of Act 1 in Konpeki Plaza. Once you have full access to the map, you'll eventually get a message from NCART and receive the NCART City Pass that unlocks the new train system!
