If you combine a magic rod/stave with a star fragment you will make a star rod that releases several orbs of light. Though I have yet to test the dmg of these light orbs yet.
Opal combines as well
No effect if combined with a diamond.
If fused with a sapphire it will transform the item into the sapphire rod giving it an aoe ice attack that is fuled by the players energy cell (I'm assuming the ruby does the same but with a fire attack)
If you combine the rod with a gem it will act like a rod from a wizrobe in BOTW.
Can also be purchased from Bargainer Statue for 100 Poes
This can also be found in the sky on an island at about -0986 -1740 1011 in a chest under the water
