The Legendary Gear you obtain from dungeons and treasure vaults are random, making it difficult to obtain a piece of gear you like to use. This also includes the Legendary Gear sold at Gladrags Wizardwear in Hogsmeade.

Identify unknown Legendary Gear at the Identification Station

If you have obtained a Legendary Gear with unknown stats, you need to have it identified at the Identification Station in your Room of Requirement.

These gear cannot be equipped and takes up one inventory space, so it is best to identify it immediately to equip it or sell it at shops.

There is a high chance that you can obtain a random Legendary Gear from Treasure Vaults all over The Highlands. These vaults require you to solve a puzzle before you can enter to open the chest and obtain the loot.

In many of the locations of the game whether it be out in the highlands or right inside Hogwarts, there are chests that players can open in order to get different types of loot. One of these chests is a Legendary Chest and opening them will always get you Legendary Gear.

Some main story quests and side quests require you to descend inside a dungeon filled with puzzles and enemies. These locations may sometimes include a fork in the path that leads to a treasure chest that may contain a random piece of Legendary Gear.
