Dishes in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be cooked in a cooking pot or placed on a campfire to get Health Recovery and other buffs. Read on for a list of all dishes and ways on how to cook in the game!

How to Cook Recipes | ||

The best way to cook food is by placing them in a Cooking Pot, as it unlocks more buffs and added health recovery from the ingredients used. These buffs also depend on the type and amount of ingredients used.
Cooking pots are commonly found in stables and villages, but Link can now carry a Portable Pot that can be carried and used while on the go. All types of cooking pots can't be used when it's raining.
You can roast food by placing it near fire, dropping it in burning hot locations such as Eldin, or by using a fire weapon.
It won't provide the same effects as using a cooking pot, but it is still better than eating ingredients raw.
Similarly, you can also cook meat and fish by freezing them! Do this by going to an icy region like the Hebra and Gerudo Highlands region, then drop your food on the ground and wait for it to freeze.
Alternatively, you can use an ice weapon on your desired ingredient to freeze it. All Frozen Dishes provide a short duration of Heat Resistance buff due to its cooling effect.
Elixirs are potions that grant status effects and are made by combining small critters with a monster part in a Cooking Pot.
Stick to this combination of ingredients to make an Elixir, as adding ingredients other than small animals and monster parts will result to dubious food.

You can now select ingredients from the Materials Inventory either manually or by recipe. To manually select an ingredient, simply clicking on the ingredients you want to use and then choose the Hold button on each one just as it was done in Breath of the Wild.
To select ingredients automatically by recipe, select an ingredient and then choose the Select for Recipe button. This opens up a new window with recipes you have previously created using the ingredient.
Select the recipe you want to make and Link will automatically hold all the ingredients needed.
You can add status effects to your cooked dishes and elixirs by using ingredients that give buffs. In a recipe, substitute possible ingredients with different alternate types to get the effect that you need.

Sunny - Cures Gloom damage
Warding - Increases Gloom resistance
Bright - Grants Glow effects
Mighty - Increases attack power
Tough - Increases defense
Hasty - Boosts movement speed
Sneaky - Increases stealth and silences footsteps
Sticky - Increases slip resistance
Rapid - Increases swimming speed
Spicy - Increases resistance to the cold
Chilly - Increases resistance to desert heat
Electro - Increases resistance to lightning
Fireproof - Increases resistance to fiery heat
Biting - Increases attack power in cold weather
Scorching - Increases attack power in hot weather
Stormy - Increases attack power in stormy weather

Advanced Cooking Guide:
Adding Buffs and Bonuses to Dishes
Increase the level of potency of the dishes that you cook by combining two ingredients that provide the same buff. For elixirs, you can add a non-critter ingredient to strengthen the effect, but be sure to at least have one Critter and one Monster Part.
Do not combine two different ingredients that provide two different buffs because they will just cancel each other out, leaving you with a dish with no buffs. You can also extend an elixir's effect duration by adding more Monster Parts.
You can hold up to 60 total dishes in your inventory, and this includes elixirs as well. Feel free to cook dishes that can serve for all kinds of situation,s from heart-replenishing dishes to attack-increasing dishes.
Triggering a critical success when cooking dishes will grant you one of the five bonuses listed in the table below. You can guarantee a critical success by cooking between 11:30 PM and 12:15 AM during a blood moon, or by adding a Golden Apple, a dragon part, or Star Fragment.
