Break Rare Ore Deposits

Tears of the Kingdom TOTK - Rare Ore Deposit

Sapphires can be obtained from rare ore deposits after breaking them. Rare ore deposits have a golden tinge, can drop other rare ores, and can be found in various areas and caves.

Since the deposit drops random ores, it's best to save before breaking the deposit, then keep breaking the deposite and resetting until you get a Sapphire.

TotK - Using the Sensor

Setting the sensor to a material that can be found in the overworld will let you track it when nearby. This is a must when farming for materials.

Defeat a Rare Stone Talus

Rare Stone Talus
A Rare Stone Talus will drop rare ores and a Stone talus Heart to fuse with your weapons, upon defeating it. Unlike other Talus, their weak point resembles a rare ore deposit, which shines and twinkles in gold.

It would be best to save before fighting one of them as their attacks are fatal, and it would be good to reset a fight until you receive your desired drops.

You can sell ores to Ramella for a much higher price per piece! The catch is you can only sell ores in units of 10 and Ramella will be buying specific ores per day.

TOTK - Sword Icon Weapons
Adds a high-level of Ice damage.
TOTK - Bow and Arrow Icon Arrows
Freezes enemies in a large area.
TOTK - Shield Icon Shields
Passively lowers temperature by 1 level when fused/Freezes enemies when parried.

Sapphires can be Fused with weapons and shields, and can be attached to arrows. When fused, the Sapphire increases attack power by 1, and other effects may vary depending on where you fuse them.

Sapphire + shield (I haven’t tested it but I’m guessing because ruby + shield has the same effect in reverse) passively cools link down (also works when holstered)
