The Rock Octorok is an enemy you can encounter and use to repair your weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Learn where to find the Rock Octorok and its locations, as well as the materials and items they drop, and how to repair weapons!
Teleport to Marakuguc Shrine near Goron City. You can reach Marakuguc Shrine by gliding to it from either Thyphlo Ruins, Eldin Canyon, or Ulri Mountain Skyview Towers!
After teleporting to the shrine, turn around and run towards where the railway stop.
Once at the stop, face northeast to see some cracked giant skulls in the distance. A Rock Octorok spawns near them!
You can attach the Zonai Fan to the railcart and place it on the nearby rails to ride it towards the skulls to reach the Rock Octorok faster.
Get to the Giant Skulls at the coordinates 1885, 2713, 0396 and use the Rock Octorok to repair your weapons and shields.
It is possible to find the Rock Octorok when exploring Death Mountain and Eldin Canyon.
If you have a picture of the Rock Octorok, you can set it as a target for your Sensor+, through the Compendium, to detect when one is nearby.
How to Unlock the Sensor +
Choose a weapon or shield that is close to breaking and drop it near the Rock Octorok.
Move away from the Rock Octorok and wait for it to eat the weapon or shield. The Rock Octorok will chew the equipment and repair it in the process as indicated by the sparkle effects.
Be aware that Rock Octoroks cannot repair amiibo weapons and shields.

Rock Octoroks are usually hiding beneath rocks. They will jump out of the ground and start inhaling to attack you with volcanic rocks. During this time, start shooting them with arrows to kill them.
How to Farm Arrows
You can also throw a Bomb Flower on them while they are inhaling air so that they can swallow it. It will explode once they inhale the Bomb Flower so this method is highly effective in killing them if you do not have arrows.
How to Get Bomb Flowers
Destroy the rock attached to its head with any Blunt (Ore Breaking) weapons to force the Octorok out of the ground for a short time, giving you an opportunity to finish it off with your melee attacks.
Be quick in attacking them as the Octorok will return to the ground after a moment and attach another rock on its head.
Rock Octorok This octopus-like species of monster lives in volcanic regions. When they inhale, they're preparing to spit out flaming rocks. Be aware of that powerful suction. |
