It is possible to find the Boss Bokoblin when exploring Hyrule Field and Hyrule Ridge.
If you have a picture of the Boss Bokoblin, you can set it as a target for your Sensor+, through the Compendium, to detect when one is nearby.
How to Unlock the Sensor +

Boss Bokoblins are larger than the ordinary bokoblins, and it takes multiple hits to kill them. Using Two-Handed Weapons will push them back on the last swing and interrupt their blows.
Continually hit them to prevent them from landing a hit on you until they are defeated.

Boss Bokoblins are always found leading packs of other Bokoblins. Contrary to the usual technique of eliminating the weaker enemies first, but Boss Bokoblins tend to take a defensive position when in a group.
Only when they fight alone do Boss Bokoblins go all out in their attacks. Eliminate the Boss Bokoblin first in a group and then target the easier enemies afterwards.
Boss Bokoblins tend to throw objects like rocks, barrels, and even fellow bokoblins at you during fights. You can use Recall on the objects they throw to send it back to them.
